Review: Disappointed by Lack of Basic Hospitality I stayed at this hotel recently and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired—especially in terms of service and hospitality. During our stay, we asked the front desk if we could borrow a lighter for our son’s birthday cake. Not only did they say no, but they didn’t make any effort to help or offer alternatives. When we suggested maybe the kitchen could help, the staff member replied bluntly that there was no kitchen available to assist. On our last day, we asked if they could help us send a postcard back home—a small request that most hotels are happy to assist with. Again, we were told flatly, “No, we don’t do that,” with no suggestion or offer of help. While the facilities may have been fine, these interactions left us with the impression that guest care was not a priority. We weren’t expecting luxury service, just a bit of friendliness and a willingness to assist with basic, common guest needs. Sadly, that wasn’t our experience.

Sad to see the hotel being downgraded by the new ownership. The kitchen is very basic and lacking in essential items that used to be there under the previous owner. They have spent a lot on decor, but ignored essentials. Breakfast is now not worth having.

Pros: Good location with free parking. Check in was quick. Its a coworking space with a gaming room. My kids absolute loved it. Huge common area you can chill out and grab a drink. Room was big enough for 3 persons. Cons: rooms allocated on the ground floor just right next to a bar table. People were drinking outside my room till 11:30. Difficult for me to get a sleep. Toilet was small and shabby. No air conditioning but it should be normal in France. It was abit hot if you sleep on the sofa bed. You can open the windows if you sleep in the double bed room.

Change of ownership seems to have reduced the quality of service. The hob and pans would not work as they had not been cleaned properly to work with induction. The hairdryer had been removed from the bathroom - had to go to reception to request a loan and told to return to reception. Breakfast was a very poor offering - no fresh baguettes, only over cooked petit pain etc etc. Toaster, but no sliced bread - very disappointing. Lots of money spent on decor, but at a cost to the quality of the experience.

Very expensive for what you get. Very little staffing onsite to assist. Breakfast isn’t worth the money. Room was okay but two singles plus double beda sofa bed was not the most comfortable for a family of 4. Public transport is 20 minute walk away. Supermarket and bar less than 10 minutes by car.

The “disabled accessible” bathroom wasn’t really that accessible. The shower was over the bath! But there was a grab rail by the toilet. The room was mainly clean and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen had a bad smell probably from a blocked drain and the walls and sofa bed were grubby. It was good to have free parking and the use of a kitchenette. Also good to have the on-site bar.
