From the moment we arrived till we left, the experience at Away Chiang Mai was fantastic. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient but especially we found Alex amazing. He met us with a smile each and every time and was helpful, funny and warm. He epitomised the experience at the hotel. The breakfast and all meals at the hotel were outstanding and delicious. We had positive interactions with the chefs and waiting staff that made this a positive experience. The pool area is good and wasn’t crowded. We were able to borrow bikes to ride around which made seeing Chiang Mai easier. The rooms were kept clean and the cleaners were friendly and helpful. All round a fantastic experience and we will return in future for another stay.

Ask for one of the newly renovated rooms across the road from the main check in area. Large beautiful rooms and gracious staff!

I'll start with the good first. The people are nice. Khun Alex is a good example, he was always so pleasant and helpful. Housekeeping staff and restaurant staff were also nice. But the infrastructure of the hotel leaves alot to be desired. When we checked in, we realised there was a foul sewage smell in our bathroom and asked to change room. But alas, our new room's bathroom also had the same smell. It is a horrendous experience to go through this i must say, considering they label themselves as a resort or retreat. Breakfast was alright, good variety. I found that their tofu tasted a little fishy. Not sure if it is not fresh or that's how tofu in this area tastes. Location was decent though. Quick drive anywhere, including One Nimman and airport.
