    I was there for Umrah with my family. The check-in process, especially for drop-off and dropping in baggage, is a big issue. There is only a small area to do it. Parking is also an issue, especially if you travel by your own car. It is very expensive. Other things: I had a very bad experience when I had a double-charge issue; the staff in charge did not help me properly. It took more than an hour of discussion without a result, a solution, or a valid recommendation. Then it took 2 months for me to get my money back by contacting my bank. Their staff in charge was just wasting my time. Their online customer service also does not respond well. Hopefully they can improve it.

    Neat and clean hotel with spacious rooms, very good breakfast and close proximity to masjid Al Haram. The islamic heritage museum in the basement is a welcome addition and highly recommended.

    It would be helpful if reception staff and hotel representatives across different departments were able to communicate in at least basic English, particularly as the hotel welcomes guests from all over the world. We checked in and were simply handed our room key without being given any basic information about the hotel, its facilities, or services. Since then, I have approached several members of staff with simple questions, but unfortunately, none of them were able to communicate in basic English. There were also some basic housekeeping issues on arrival. There was no hand wash at all in the sink area, and the shower gel in the shower was almost empty. These are basic amenities that should have been checked and replenished before a new guest checked into the room. I called housekeeping simply to ask for our beds to be made, and the response I received was, “one minute, shwaya, one minute, shwaya,” with no apparent understanding of my request. Hilton is a global hotel brand, so I would expect greater attention to communication skills and basic customer-service training when recruiting staff for guest-facing roles. I appreciate that hotels in Saudi Arabia may have local employment requirements, but regardless of recruitment requirements, appropriate training should be provided so that international guests can communicate their basic needs effectively. This is intended as constructive feedback, as better training, communication, and attention to basic room preparation would significantly improve the guest experience.
