    We had a great time! We were offered a room update upon check in for free which was amazing. The room was big, clean and comfortable with a small kitchenette with microwave,fridge,sink,kettle and dishes. Would love to stay here again if ever in Amsterdam

    Honestly, it was a busy and expensive week to find accommodation in Amsterdam, so it was what it was. The staff were all lovely. The location was easy enough to get into the main city and convenient to the trains. And I appreciated the funky vibe they were going for. That’s about where the good ends. The room I had was nothing like the photos online. A really weird and awkward layout in a very rundown room. The bed was like sleeping on a cement block. I had to ask for extra pillows just to kind of build myself a cushion so I could get some sleep, and even then, it was very hard to get any rest. The walls were paper thin and I could hear every noise from the adjacent rooms. The shower did not drain and I had to only turn on the shower when I was actively rinsing myself to keep it from overflowing. This was especially frustrating when getting ready for the wedding I was in town for. And despite no smoking in the hotel, people definitely did and it came into my room through the air vents. It also was very hot and I don’t really know what the purpose of the air vents even were for, because it definitely wasn’t for cooler air. I woke up drenched in sweat many times. There was some graffiti marks and stickers left by past guests. Lots of dusty corners. And an unreasonable number of spiders. At the end of the day, it was a place to keep my belongings and pretend to sleep. It was what I was able to book within my budget for this trip, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to stay here again and wouldn’t really recommend it. Not the worst place I’ve ever stayed, but definitely not anywhere near the best either. Maybe there are nicer versions of my room on the premises, but mine was not it.
