Heritage Boutique by Seven Angels Collection

My mum and I stayed at Heritage Boutique Kandy. The location of this hotel is excellent, which is just outside the entrance to the Dalada Maligawa. The way the hotel is designed the bedroom doors lead straight to the open corridor and then to the road where people park their car to go visit the temple. There is no traditional reception or lobby which is also unconventional and the hotel is enclosed with a low fence and a small gate. There is a 24/7 security outside and the police at the President's House are always on patrol even though the road may seem lonely and dark past 8pm. The downside of this establishment is that the adjacent restaurant (which also serves as the hotel's restaurant) only operates until 7:30pm and after that they switch off the lights and it feels a bit lonely and therefore is not a lively location. You have to contact housekeeping/the operator using your mobile or the phone in the room. Dhanjaya with housekeeping was excellent and was there to attend to all our requests. What a con. This is more of a cheap Airbnb than a five star hotel. The ‘hotel’ only has four rooms and no reception desk to speak off. Staff are mostly invisible and can only be accessed through restaurant next door. The building is beautiful but the facilities are non-existent. My room had no window, which is probably not a bad thing as the street outside is a car park. My room was not cleaned overnight. The furniture was stained. Awful. Avoid.
