Dumbara is a great spot if you need just a simple place to stay while you’re in Kandy. It has all the necessary basics you need for a nights stay. We were only in Kandy one night and the location was in the perfect spot to be able to walk to the Sacred Tooth Relic, cultural dance, and Kandy Lake. The staff are friendly and helpful. The gentleman who works at the rooftop restaurant is very lovely also. The food up there was great and it seems to be where a lot of locals meet

It's up some steep stairs, in an older building with a small entrance that is hard to find. But it is great value with amenities that are unusual at this price, including hot water that works, a TV, and a nice restaurant on the roof. The best feature is the extremely helpful and knowledgeable manager, Priyantha. I arrived early but he went out of his way to clean up a room so I could check in early. Later he arranged a car and a three-wheeler for me to do some trips and both were fairly priced. If you want to be in the middle of Kandy with everything you need, I highly recommend this hotel.

Location, staff, clealiness, are ok. just the bed is too soft and shaky. sleeping quality is below average.
