Burlington Hotel

Right in the center of Wan Chai. Very near to 7-11s. Walking distance to restaurants.

The room was very, very small and the bed was just a queen size rather than a king so it was hard for the 2 of us to get a decent night's sleep. While small, the room is modern and clean. I managed to get a partial sea view which was acceptable. Hotel reception staff are friendly and very quick to check you in and out. Location is very convenient and less than 5 minutes walk to the MTR.

Although it’s a little small room, it’s still good value for money.

I had a very disturbing and unacceptable stay at Burlington Hotel Hong Kong. During my stay, I found a cockroach in my room. When I reported it, the hotel manager suggested that I had brought the cockroach into the hotel myself. He also claimed that the hotel had never had cockroaches in the building and said that he had stayed in many hotels where there were cockroaches but had never considered it a problem. His response was dismissive and deeply unprofessional, and it left me worried that there might be more cockroaches in the room or that they had come into contact with my belongings. Before I reported the cockroach, the hotel had already provided a written notice stating that routine pest-control treatment would be carried out in the guest rooms the following day, from 09:00 to 18:00. This suggests that the hotel may have had pest-related problems before, which conflicts with the manager’s claim that the building had never had cockroaches. Because I could not be sure whether the cockroach had affected my luggage, I later had to have it professionally cleaned in Norway. Despite this expense and the seriousness of the situation, the manager refused to provide any form of refund, compensation, or reimbursement for the luggage-cleaning cost. He did offer an airport shuttle. There was also a separate and serious safety issue in the room: loose live electrical wires were coming out of the wall and sparked, creating a potential fire and electrical hazard. In addition, staff made rude comments in Chinese when I was entering the building, which made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. The hotel handled the cockroach incident very poorly, dismissed my concerns, and failed to provide a reasonable solution. I felt unsafe and ignored during my stay. Basic hygiene, electrical safety, and respectful customer service should be minimum standards for any hotel. Based on my experience, I would not recommend staying here.
