Bilbao Metropolitan Hostel by Bossh Hotels

I picked it because it was the cheapest option but it’s in the sketchy area of Bilbao everyone says to stay away from. As a female solo traveler I did not feel safe even standing outside the hotel as multiple men would not leave me alone as soon as it got dark. The lobby/kitchen is not a social space and the hostel is mostly older adults. Having one bathroom in the dorm with 8 people was not comfortable but doable. Window opened up to the street with noise blaring all night. People kept to themselves inside but it had an overall uneasy feeling, even men around me were uncomfortable. I would not recommend this place. I stayed out as much as I could during the day so I wouldn’t have to go back. Not a comfortable setting and I wouldn’t stay there again.

Nada amas entrar un montón de hombre en la sala te miran de arriba abajo si eres mujer, parece como si fuera un hostel que tiene convenios con el estado para alojar personas de otros países con pocos recursos. El hostel me metenen Una habitación de 6 en literas sin cortinas por lo que no tienes privacidad, con jóvenes marroquíes, jamás me he sentido tan insegura en un hostel, y llevo 20 años viajando por todo el mundo siempre en hostels con habitaciones compartidas mixtas y con todo tipo de personas.Desde la recepción no pensaron que meter a una mujer con todo magrebíes jóvenes a lo mejor podría violentar. 0 empatía. Me marché de allí enseguida sin soltar la mochila, la mujer de recepción cuando le entregue la tarjeta (que esa es otra, te dan una tarjeta con unos números escritos, cualquiera puede entrar de la calle, vas a un colega y le das los códigos y listo, entra cualquiera como por su casa) me dice no podemos mirar de cambiarte de habitación, pero la sensación de inseguridad no me la quitó nadie. Si eres mujer y viajas sola NO ELIGAS ESTE HOSTEL, además está en una zona muy mala de Bilbao. A solo 20' andando hay muchas mejores opciones.

Arrived late so can’t speak for much. WiFi was better in common area which can be utilized better with its kitchen. Not the cleanest but it’s late at night. Bed was fine. 20 min walk from bus station. Seems to be in busy area but away from station which is why I give it mixed reviews as based on proximity to such you can rate it as such. Not sure if I would stay again, as I chose it due to mostly price. Check in and out was very easy and secure
