    With sufficient parking space, air-conditioned room and good buffet breakfast, Hotel Rappen is an excellent option for a summer vacation in Rothenburg. It is location outside the city wall, but in fact the walking distance to the Marktplatz is minimal. Some historic accommodation within the city wall may be attractive, but most of them are without elevators, without air-conditioning, and without private carpark space. You may need to park on the street, and take your heavy luggage all the way up the stairs. I would take Hotel Rappen every time.

    Beautiful property with a modern family room and great rat breakfast. Just a very short walk into the heart of the action. We’d definitely stay there again.

    I was there during the Meistertrunk festival, and the staff was really helpful with information. The hotel is conveniently located just outside of the old town. Close enough for easy access, but without the high traffic and noice of being within the old town. The rooms were clean and staff were very helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and varied, even around the end of the breakfast time.

    The hotel is right next to old city wall with free parking lot. However the family room that I got was different from the one that I saw on the pic. The staff said my room was in another building which is the sister hotel (3 stars hotel not 4 stars like Rappen) in the back of Rappen. The room was fine but smell musty. Not many amenities provided in the romm. The room rate included breakfast which was ok.
