Stunning views but difficult to get around

Stunning views, helpful staff.

There were gaps in the floor as well as between roof and walls and I heard something running around the floor at night and also, we found mouse poop on the bed after we got back after not being in the villa for a few hours. But I guess it’s normal in such remote area. Also it’s quite problematic to go around if you’re not driving a scooter as grab does not work here and there are no shops/ restaurants around. We tried to go for a walk but there were so many homeless dogs that were very territorial and we did not feel safe so had to get back. Every time we needed anything we had to ask the staff for a lift.

The staff were very accommodating, polite, and quick to respond to any questions or requests raised with them. The location and views are beautiful, as is the property. This was a really unique, and fabulous experience for me.

Due to the weather, the room was quite damp. The dehumidifiers did a good job to keep things conformable, but it may not be ideal for guests who have respiratory or similar issues.

fine, but wouldn't stay again

The staff at Kayu Kopi were very accommodating, polite and friendly. When I was there it was a group of young lads, who would hang out around reception/kitchen, smoking. Bit weird, but they were very nice and kindly gave me a lift on their bike to the hike start point and back for 1/5 of the price of a local taxi (which was extortionate for a 5 minute journey). The staff were very responsive on WhatsApp and quick to answer any questions. The cabins are sweet enough, very cosy when it rains and the garden and grounds were beautiful and very well kept. The view from the terrace/veranda was very nice. And of course it is nice that they are pet friendly.

- wifi was terrible - wouldn't connect on my phone and I had to sit in bed to use it - there's some bar or karaoke thing or something nearby with loud bass that goes on incessantly, feels like you're at a festival. not relaxing at all - the menu is very basic and mostly western food ? I chose the curry which was nice though. only lager beers no other drinks or wine. breakfast is American or pancakes ??? staff recommended me to order from Munduk farmhouse which was okay but not ideal. - no pool or grounds other than the weird terrace/veranda thing. nowhere for the dog to really go and nowhere for me to go if I'm not out hiking or in the cabin. they could make so much more of that space and the grounds around it. - the bed is on a mezzanine level, the stairs for which are a total deathtrap and the dog almost broke his neck going down them so I had to barricade him up on the mezzanine and panicked all night that he was going to fall - SO MANY BUGS - the "kitchenette" area very strange - a big fridge, a water machine (you could hear it boiling the water every ten minutes, annoying) and a big cabinet that had nothing in it. Would be far more homely if it was a proper little kitchenette area. - bathroom had no extractor fan. very damp.

Beautiful, relaxing, just what we needed as a romantic get away

I loved the property, it was absolutely beautiful. Staff were attentive and quick to reply to messages and bring us food and towels to the room. Bed was super super comfy and the view was beautiful!

I didnt like the construction next door to our room which also ruined the view from the bathroom, we had to keep one of the blinds down as it looked ugly. It would have been nice to have been shown the amenities at the property like the fire pit etc and what else was to offer at the property - would be great if there was drying facilities for clothes as due to it being cold, i got soaked from the rain and it was so hard to dry my clothes off after.

Its a beautiful setting & definately worth a visit.

Place was really beautiful, staff were very helpful & polite, Scenery, location & views are breathtaking. Accomodation really cute & the bed was sooooooooo comfortable. Extra's because it was my wife's birthday were really well presented, they put balloons & birthday signs around the room, wrote on the bed & in the bath with rose petals. My wife was overwhelmed.

The only thing that was a bit below par considering the enormaous bathroom was the size of the shower area, only room for one person & there could have been some extra care taken to clean the area where the doors tracked in the shower recess.. bit of built up grime & hair.. not nice.

Wonderful. Will stay again!

The location was off the main drag, so the area is quiet and less developed. Very scenic. The compound was beautifully landscaped. Views all the way to the coastline. Sunset would have been magnificient - if it wasnt for the fog that evening. We ate dinner out. But breakfast was part of the room cost. We had it on the common terrace again with stunning views. It was simple but well presented - pancakes or eggs and toast. Villa, as clean and we did not want for anything.

More information on facilities? If we knew they had a kitchen, perhaps we would not have made plans to eat out.

don't scroll past this amazing villa

stunning views and beautiful spacious villa. if your wanting a few nights of quiet and enjoying the company of those around you this is perfect.

transport isn't as easy as it is in kuta/ubud/seminyak but we organized a contact prior to collect us and take us which was helpful as we didn't have the stress of sourcing while there. with saying that the care takers of the villa were incredibly helpful and i don't think we would have actually had an issue getting back. with ought a scooter your limited to walking, again this wasn't an issue for us as we went for the serenity of it and it met all expectations. we ordered a Grad driver one night to get dinner, and he advised us on a restaurant which blew our minds. he booked us a table and got us a prime spot. there really isn't anything we didn't like.

It was peaceful and serene. The view is breathtaking! The staff was trying their best to help us and make our stay more enjoyable. Really great people. Breakfast comes with an amazing view. The dinner was delicious even though they recommended other places to order from.

The sheets were “washed” but I they weren’t clean. Or the bedding was white but it didn’t look white anymore. This seems to be relevantly new hotel, lacking many things. But even then the comfort of sleep should be the priority.

My partner and I loved every minute of our stay and would have double our time if we could have.

The location was perfect for the quiet, mountain retreat we were looking for. The house was beautiful with incredible views from the second story and the staff were incredibly friendly, delivering us a lovely breakfast each morning. We would love to go back again!!

Keep in mind, you either need your own transport or willing to hire a driver to get anywhere from here and nothing much is in walking distance.

Extraordinary view and comfortable 2-rooms villa. The pancakes breakfast made by the young staff were the best we had in Bali.

Amazing view from the room! Really breathtaking! It really looks like in the pictures. The staff is super welcoming and they accommodated all our request (tour of the waterfalls, massage in the room and driver).

An evening of incredible sunset and good rest

The view is incredible, once we got here we decided not to go anywhere else for the day as the accommodation was a destination in itself. We watched the beautiful sunset for hours and got a delicious dinner from Kayu Kopi The staff were friendly and helpful. They provided tasty dinner and breakfast, taught us some Balinese, and helped us find a driver upon leaving. Wish we had another night there

Misleading description

Friendly staff

The accommodation looked more as a bungalow instead of a villa; first night cold water only; very bad WiFi; upstairs sleeping part difficult to reach; no shared swimming pool available; no bicycles available. We decided to check-out earlier without getting any refund or response from the owner. Overall is the description misleading. I strongly recommend to update it.

Wonderful cabin in the hills. Clean spacious and with a wonderful rural feeling. Short walk to some shops and food places.

Only negative is the TV wifi was too weak to watch Netflix in the particular cabin we sere in. Instead we had to enjoy the wonderful views and sounds of the animals in the hills.

The shower in our room was blocked, so the water filled up the bathroom. They did come and clean immediately but the problem wasnt fixed so they open the second room for us to use.

Overall a great place. They also launched two new villas with spectacular views. Took some drone shots which i will add to the review.

This place was so magical! We loved everything about it! It was super beautiful and the vibes were great! Such a good energy over there! The garden was super beautiful and we were very lucky with the weather so we had a view all over to the sea! The staff was soo friendly and made everything possible we asked for! The breakfast was amazing, they also made dinner for us that was super delicious and we could book massages that were great!

Since its up in the north it's very cold over there also in the rooms and very humid.
