We had an awesome 2 weeks at Villa Kupu Kupu! The place is beautiful and literally on the beachfront. The views were amazing! We will definitely be coming back! It’s feels like a home away from home...just in paradise!! Thanks again!

Welcomed by Coco and Kadek we felt at home the minute we entered the front door! The decor whilst eclectic was just divine...we loved all the lighting and lamps! Bed was so comfy and the aircon in bedroom welcomed. Everything we needed was there..including blue tooth speakers! Right on the beach front we could hear the waves crashing nightly...bliss! The added bushes at back fence make for a private pool (which the other properties along the beach seemed to lack)..but we still had sea views from the verandah. Our 2 night stay here was the highlight of our 8 day Bali holiday. We were told by regular Bali visitors and I had also read on the internet by some people that it was a 9 hour drive to Lovina...Don't listen! Its 3.5 -4 hours lovely interesting drive from Kuta..then there are temples and other places of interest when up that way. Kadek cooked dinner for us and left for us to reheat on one night (yum yum!) ...and cooked brekky for us next morning (For a small fee)...we will miss her happy smiley face! These little extras made our stay so much more rewarding. I can't recommend this property highly enough...simply a stunning, comfy (and spotlessly clean) abode. Thank you Jody for allowing us to share your beautiful slice of Bali...and thank you Kadek and Coco for your service and making us so welcome. We will definitely return and next time spend more time relaxing here!

From the moment you walk in, you feel the love. My family enjoyed the home and staff so much we literally never left the house! So much better than the pictures- the art and attention to detail inside and out makes this home truly unique. The best place we stayed at on Bali. The house and grounds look just as they do in the pictures, but have the wonderful addition of the sound of breaking waves just feet away. The decoration is upbeat and reflects the vibrant colours of the garden. A market is just 10 minutes away on a scooter. The staff are very helpful and accommodating, and ready to help with any question. The owner, while not on site, was also continuously ready to assist and was very friendly. I highly recommend this property and am already planning a trip back.

Me and my wife had a great 10 days in this beautifull villa, which is situated right at the beach. The villa is beautifull decorated with a good eye for details. Wide opening slidingdoors on every side of the villa which create a very open feeling with the garden, the many sitting areas and the swimming pool with jacuzzi. For us it was a dream come true (it was better than in the pictures). The staff was great, nothing was to much for them to make our stay comfortable. We arrived to a warm welcome from all the staff to this lovely home set among lush landscaping and ocean views. It was late in the afternoon from Ubud so it was a very nice surprise that dinner was already prepared for us. The rooms are large and the air conditioning works extremely well...and the units are quiet. Breakfast was prepared every morning for us. Kadek offered to pick up whatever we needed from the grocery store and there is a also small "store" just a few steps away on Jalan Tulip road where you can buy the basics....including Bintang. The home is very clean and the staff comes daily to clean, but are not intrusive. Kadek arranged for a driver to take us to a waterfall one day and we used Bemos for the rest of our stay. The lush tropical landscaping and multiple lounging areas made us feel like we had our very own slice of paradise for our 4 days in northern Bali.

This is a very unique and beautiful villa exceptionally tasteful in interior decoration. The garden is delightful and the location directly on the beach is marvellous. Quiet and relaxing, we didn't want to leave.

I couldn't be happier. The villa was everything I was hoping for and more. It is a beautiful place right on the oceans edge, very private and yet close enough to town that ordering food or going to a restaurant was easy. Kadek was marvellous, she took care of any requests and made sure we were looked after fully. I fully expect that I will be back. If you want to get away this is the place!

Beautiful, fully equipped villa with lovely grounds, nice private pool and access to a clean black sand beach through the back gate. A short Bemo ride to town and shopping. Occasional noise from nearby sea-do rental business, but overall very peaceful. Staff are friendly and helpful.

We stayed at this wonderful villa for 15 nights and had the most perfect of holidays. Believe every word of the write up because it's so true. Kadek and Koko are exactly as described in all of the reviews and even helped me when I needed to visit a doctor during our stay. This villa is as close to the beach and sea as it looks and is the most amazing location. We were taken all over Bali by drivers and they couldn't do enough for you. There isn't anything we can criticise regarding our stay at Villa Kupa Kupa and will certainly visit again. Many thanks everyone.

This place has a beautiful pool in a great garden and is perfectly located on the black beach. It is an interesting home with lots of personal touches and friendly staff (delicious food). Its just a five minute bemo ride into Lovina (blue bemo or white coastal bus).

Villa Kupu Kupu is a special place that stands out from the surrounding villas. You can't but be happy here. Right on the beach, but private and hidden from it by a lush garden, the villa has been carefully and tastefully decorated by the owner, Jody. Lots of color, paintings, and sculptures, and -- best of all -- a collection of lamps like you've never seen! They hang like jewels from the open thatched roof and make the place truly magical, especially at night. We spent 10 days here, 7 of which we just lolled around reading, sunning, sleeping, swimming (pool and ocean), and sipping at the house. The other 3 days we toured. Drivers are easy to organize: they pick you up at the house, punctual as a Swiss train, and take you off to nearby sights such as waterfalls, temples, coffee plantations, the market, hot springs, etc, or as far away as you want, all day long for very reasonable prices. Driving on the crowded streets is crazy in Bali so tourists tend not to rent cars, relying on drivers instead. If we visit again, we might consider renting a scooter (the most popular means of travel in Bali), but then again -- not. Driver Rio transported us to the villa from the airport (3 hour drive away from the touristy South), and back to the airport at the end of our stay -- kind, helpful Jody can help you organize this. We took a side trip to Ubud (Rio's home) on the last day and he did a great job showing us around. From the villa, you can also walk down the beach 5 minutes to the spiffy new water sports center, where we went parasailing and had cocktails and a snack. If you are hungry, Kadek (the wonderful housekeeper) can cook you a delicious, one-dish meal or you can order food delivered to the house. Though my husband and I love to cook, we didn't end up cooking ourselves during this trip. We were in total relaxation mode, though we found ourselves getting up early every day to enjoy the sunrise (stunning!), then have our morning coffee by the pool. The temperature is approx. 80-85 24/7, so it's nice and warm in the morning. Be sure to bring Nespresso capsules for the house machine! And know that alcohol (especially hard liquor) is pretty expensive in Bali. Everything else is cheap, and it's a friendly, safe, beautiful, spiritual place. Little altars everywhere! Thank you to Jody, Kadek, Koko (the pool boy), Rio, and Putu (our other driver) for making Bali and our stay at Villa Kupu Kupu so wonderful! We hope to return.

This is such a relaxing/quiet villa! Beautiful view! Kadek makes you feel at home, looks after all your needs and her cooking is good! I would recommend anyone to stay here, and would stay again if we were in the area!

We arrived at the villa in the evening and were blown away at how it looked all lit up with beautiful colourful lighting and artworks adorning the walls. We were met by Kadek and Coco the staff who look after the villa, the lovliest people who made us feel so welcome. Kadek even made us dinner that night as we arrived late and hungry. Nothing was a hassle. We proceeded to spend the next seven days just enjoying this wonderful place, We did venture out and about but truly here it is all about the villa. The gardens and pool are just delightful there is nothing better than lying on the daybed with a soft breeze blowing spreading the scent of all the flowers in the garden whilst you are enjoying a massage from the lovely girls from Cambodja Spa. There are many restaurants around, some will even pick you up and drop you home. We were just as happy to order takeaway from Chonos Hotel in Lovina. We did the boat trip out to see the dolphins and the boat actually picked us up beachside right in front of the villa - awesome. Being right on this beautiful black sand beach is so nice the sound of the waves crashing lulls you off to sleep at night. We were so sad to leave and made a promise to ourselves (and Kadek) that we will return. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

I arrived at the beautiful villa on a Sunday after a long 35 hours of travel to be completely amazed. This property is ON THE BEACH. It is incredible how close to the water it is. Kadek, the wonderful women who cooks and cares for you while you are there is a complete dream! while in Bali her meals were my favorite out of all the meals I had. I actually want to ask for some recipes. So let me break it down. The driver picked me up from the airport, my flight was delayed but he already knew that. He was soo amazing, he loves to chat and is extremely helpful. The house was clean, comfortable, plenty of space, the entire house is made up of windows and large doors so basically it feels like you are outside the entire time. The gardener Coco is there in the mornings making sure the pool and outdoor space is nice and clean. Kadek, the women who you will meet, is amazing. She is so sweet and wants nothing but for you to relax and enjoy your stay. I had a massage every day out by the pool overlooking the ocean, nothing more relaxing then that. The internet was perfect. I worked from the Villa. If you want to do any activities or see anything, Kadek will make sure you are all taken care of. I will be returning soon. I have zero complaints. By the way, ask to be picked up in a small long boat in the morning to watch the sun rise, dolphins and the coral reefs that are out there but no one tells you about. You will see the wonderful fish and coral from the long boat. What a treat!!

This Villa exceeded all of our expectations! It had everything we wanted and more. Magnificent garden, beautifully decorated living space, Dawn and dusk views over the sea was breathtaking. The staff Kadek and Coco made our stay very very comfortable looking after our every need. Lovina shows you a completely different world to Kuta etc. This is about enjoying Bali for the paradise it really is. We really appreciated the privacy. Kadek cooked beautiful Balinese food for us for our entire stay. This villa with its staff is a Gem! And the booking was made easy with prompt and informative email response from owner Jody. Villa Kupa Kupa ticked all the boxes for us, tranquility, beauty, relaxation, privacy, staff all 5 *****

We loved this villa! We read the reviews beforehand and it completely lived up to and beyond our expectations! The villa was spacious, very clean and comfortable and the garden and pool were very well loved. Kadek and Cocoa took excellent care of us and were fabulous with our children. They really wanted to make our stay the best and were willing to work with whatever we needed. Jodi, the owner was extremely helpful answering questions and concerns beforehand. We also used Rio, the driver she recommended to get to the villa from the airport and were so glad we did. He was great! We thought the local taxi service was a little expensive and nothing exceptional. We made good use of the kayak and paddle board at the house and loved being right on the beach. Although not clear blue water it worked fine for us! Our favourite thing to do was to walk around the local area through the rice paddies stopping at the chocolate museum for refreshments on our way home. An amazing vacation. We went south for a couple of days at the end of our trip but much preferred our time in Loveina, it was quieter, less touristy and felt more like the 'real Bali'. We want to go back and I think we will!

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful villa for two and a half weeks and it was amazing. Everything from the decorating in the villa, too the gardening in the backyard, and the outstanding Staff at the villa make this the best holiday we have even been on. The villa feels very safe, and along with the great company of the staff this proved to be a great place to stay that felt like home. We found out very quickly that the best food in bali was being made for us in our our personal balinese Villa by Kadek, one of the wonderful staff that work on site. We will be recommending this villa to everyone we know interested in staying in Bali. And as far as me and my wife, we are hoping to make this a reoccurring vacation because it feels like a home away from home.

We stayed in this lovely tropical paradise for two whole weeks. Every morning when I woke up and wandered out to the pool area with my cup of tea I thought I had died and gone to heaven. The bonus was I was still alive! Looking over the cool pool surrounded by a very pretty garden and with the hazy North Bali Sea as a backdrop, it was just divine! The villa is furnished and decorated beautifully with an eclectic mix of furniture artwork and lighting from around the world. The bedrooms are spacious, the beds comfortable and the bedding top class. It is fully kitted out with plenty of clean towels and a fully set up kitchen with some gorgeous quirky dinnerware. In the late afternoon we would pour a glass a chilled wine and settle in to watch the glorious sunset. Kadek, a local Balinese lady who takes care of the house, is really switched on and also lovely. She is happy to help with anything but in our case was happy to leave us to our own devices most of the time. You can ask her anything and she knows where to get it, or can point you in the right direction. Gusdee, a local Balinese man keeps the garden looking beautiful and the pool spotless. We found Chono's Hotel fantastic as our own personal room service provider. Just ring them up at any time and they will promptly deliver what ever you want from about 7 am to 10 pm. We ordered fresh tropical fruit platters and toasted sandwiches for breakfast and great meals such as garlic and chilli prawns or a peppered steak chips and salad for dinner. Very easy and very very reasonable prices. For getting around, Putu, the resident driver, will drive you anywhere you want for a very reasonable fee. He is a very polite and charming young man. Top class service at such reasonable rates, you would be crazy to go elsewhere. In short, we had a first class holiday with all the fruit, literally and figuratively, for a very reasonable cost. In fact we were so enamoured by the experience, we are buying our own villa in the area.
