Comfortable and attractive house in an interesting, historic location.

The house was warm and comfortable and very well equipped for my stay of a week. It's a very interesting house and the internal exposed beams and large bedroom are very attractive. The location is excellent too for walks and there are a range of excellent restaurants and cafes nearby. The hosts were friendly and helpful and I would definitely choose to stay at the property again.

Beautiful cottage…

Beautifully presented cottage. Really clean.

Unfortunately there was no parking at the property, so had to find a spot on another road, which is isn’t easy. Which meant we had to carry our luggage to and from the car. A lady, who said she was the owner, randomly turned up on Sunday (we are on our mini honeymoon break as we were married on the Friday) to ask for the WiFi password (surely you know this as the owner?) despite all our correspondence being from Ben the owner?? …bizarre…

Cute and cozy cottage: best kept secret in the village

Excellent location, close to the main village square, easy walk to cafes and restaurants. The cottage is quintessentially English: twee and cozy. Love the wooden beams! Bedroom upstairs was spacious, bright and airy. The bed is a bit on the soft side (looks like most British beds are!) but the comfortable pillows made up for it. Nice walk-in shower with good water pressure. Overall, this is such a lovely cottage. Wished we stayed a bit longer.

Whilst there is allocated parking within the courtyard, access is somewhat challenging. You have to reverse in from the road, and if there are other vehicles already close to the entrance it can be quite a struggle in a hired car! We made a mistake of driving in forward on the first day and had to do a 15-point turn to get back out! Not sure if this is the norm for holiday cottages but there were no toiletries provided (we had to make a quick dash to the Coop in the village to get some). We were here for 3 days but there were only two teabags provided in the kitchen. Really? I thought the English liked to drink tea! Lesson learned. Bring your own toiletries and teabags.

Lovely comfortable clean little cottage, within easy walking distance of all amenities.

Lovely cottage - everything was very clean. Nice soft towels and clean bedding. Lovely bathroom and shower. Good central location close to handy shops and good restaurants in easy walking distance. Nice touch to have some nice packs of biscuits to snack on - and a very handy shoe-horn

The parking is a bit difficult we found the best way was to reverse into France Fold off the main road up the hill you could position the car opposite the cottage no problem then. But that road is quite busy.

Very cosy and clean. Comfy bed. Kitchen well equipped. Towels provided. Milk in fridge on arrival, tea and biscuits. Local information provided. Free WiFi. Microwave and cooker. Takeaway's Close by and little pub.

Parking was tricky. Best to back in.

Wonderful cottage, however!

Loved it. Cosy and clean. Biscuits was a lovely touch, a bottle of wine would have been better due to the fact it was my husbands 70th birthday. Little personal touches are an added bonus for incoming visitors. I did mention this, but obviously, this wasn't picked up, maybe a whiteboard. For welcoming messages. Looking through the visitors' book, you used to leave extra's. Why change this??? The bed was comfy. Loved the window shutters. However, the kitchen window doesn't open. It was presented very well. Loved the patio chairs and table. It is very well decorated. Cleaners 10/10.

The parking space was an issue. Because I'm a blue badge holder, this is the most important part of a cottage. This cottage has an allocated space. However, on our 2nd day, we returned back, and someone was in our space. I can't walk far. However, I had to go door to door trying to find out whose car it was. My husband had to be left in the cottage on his own. He has Dementia. This in itself was upsetting and annoying. I did call the owner and emailed the agent, who didn't think this was a problem. The neighbour said that for one night, we could park behind her car until morning. On telling the agent, their response was well, what's the problem. This did ruin our stay. We are looking for a perfect cottage as this was to visit 2 to 3 times a year. The owner coming out would have been a lovely touch. BTW I had to get up early in the morning to move my car .My review on TripAdvisor is yet to be done.

Lovely cottage in a lovely location

Location was lovely. Loved the quaint high street with independent shops and cafes, and a shop open 8am-10pm even on Sunday/bank holidays which was great... We spent our time between here and visiting family in Manchester which was just under an hour away. Cottage had everything we needed for a few days stay. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Parking was a bit tight. Luckily we had a small car 😂. And if being really picky the bed was a bit comfortable/ bit firmer than what we're used to, but overall slept well - not really dislike just maybe next time id bring a softer pillow ...

Cosy cottage close to restaurants and shops. Easy to access parking space just outside the house. Clean, well maintained. Had character both in a traditional and modern sense. High quality towels and bedding.

Great little cottage very clean and tidy. Ben is super helpful if you want to send him any messages. I would of stayed another night but I had to fly back to Ireland earlier than expected. I left my top there and they have arranged to send it on to my parents absolute legend 🙌.

Ideal location just off the main street of the village. Near a superb Lebanese restaurant.

Minor point - no dishwasher tablets so we had to get a couple from a nearby friend.

France Fold Perfection

France Fold Cottage was a real home from home. My stay was perfect from booking to leaving. Ben was really helpful and accommodating. The cottage was absolutely spotless, well equipped and comfortable. It's in a great location and all the beauty of Yorkshire is easily accessible from the cottage. I will definitely stay again.

Didn't appreciate the neighbours partying on Saturday night through to early hours of Sunday morning. 2 hours sleep not fun at all However this was nothing to do with the owners of the cottage.

We would stay here again, ideal for visting my wife's father who lives in Honley.

The location, very central and a quiet street. Nice touch to have a litre of milk in the fridge. Comfy sofas. Liked the table & chairs just outside. Plenty of space in the bedroom. Honley has a number of good restaurants.

the church bells, I don't think they should ring after 11pm or before 8am.
