Beautiful, quiet, old home with lots of character and history with a lovely host, but quite a few issues which were disa
The house was stunning, the area was beautiful and perfectly located near Harlech castle and Barmouth. The bedrooms were all en-suite which was good. The host was very attentive and tried to fix any issues immediately. We paid a great value price (much cheaper than usual maybe due to time of year) considering the house was so large with all en-suite bedrooms.
As it was a very old building with old windows the property was cold until the heating kicked in. Could benefit from some heaters downstairs in the lounge areas as these struggled to warm up. The house was tired and had little things broke/worn in places. Overall it wasn’t as clean as we would have expected, with dirty floors in kitchen and some bathrooms not cleaned well enough, which I believe is the cleaning company’s failure not the host. The cleaners actually accused us of leaving a dirty bed sheet with dog mess in the cupboard of one of the bedrooms which is absolutely not true and did not belong to us at all. The hot water didn’t work in a couple of bedrooms due to an old system being on a timer. This was fixed once a gentleman came to look at the issue the next day. There was other dogs in the farm/houses nearby which came onto the land a lot and wandered about the garden. There was lots of dog excrement all over the grounds which was not ideal if enjoying the outside areas. I would not have been happy paying a higher price considering the issues we had.

absolutely Amazing.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful property in Wales. The location was peaceful and scenic, surrounded by rolling hills and stunning countryside. The property itself was spotless, tastefully decorated, and had all the comforts of home (and more!). The hosts were incredibly welcoming and made sure everything was just right for our stay. From the cozy fireplace to the comfortable beds, every detail was clearly thought through. We especially loved the outdoor space — perfect for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. A great base for exploring the local area, including some lovely coastal walks and charming Welsh villages. We’re already planning our return visit. Highly recommended!

Lovely house with lots of amenities, beautifully presented in quiet location
Lovely house with lots of amenities, beautifully presented. Hosts were super informative ahead of our stay and we didn't need to message them during our stay. Everything was just as expected. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and it suited the needs of the group perfectly. Would definitely stay here again.

Magnificent house and facilities
What an amazing house for groups. It's a superb location, close to the beach and Harlech Castle. The village is lovely too with pubs and news agents. The rooms at Cae Nest are big, and the beds are so comfy with proper feather duvets. The kitchen is big and ideal for groups. The heating was on for us, which we appreciated. The Woodburner in the lounge adds to cosy evenings. There's a huge garden table and chairs for outdoor entertainment. We noticed a BBQ, too. It was thoughtful that olive oil and cleaning materials and bin bags were provided, too. It's obviously a thoughtful owner who cares about their guests' experience. The bathrooms are all modern, too. A truly lovely place.
