The decor is amazing, and a very historic building.
We found it very comfortable for a one night stopover while touring North Wales in the car.
There was nothing we didn’t like.

Lack of bath foam for the bath.

Authentic dated property. Lovely facilities and grand entrance. Love the baths in the bedrooms and how quiet it is. Plenty of parking spaces.
The gentleman who checked us in was very nice.
Room for improvement on cleanliness overall. I can see the kettle and baths are not well cleaned. It is also a pet friendly hotel so animal hairs are on beds even when we did not have any pets with us. Rooms should provide reading lights as the lighting is very dimmed.

We wanted a chilled out and quiet time to see in the New Year with our dog who is petrified of fireworks. So here was a perfect location for us. Lovely staff. Great breakfast 😋
Only fault though nothing major was the heated towel rail wasn't working in the bathroom. But didn't really inconvenience us too much.

From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is full of character and was the perfect place to spend boxing day with a very festive vibe. The rooms are unique with quirky old features and big comfortable beds. The lounge area was gorgeous, I felt like I was in an episode of Downton Abbey with its decor, plush fabrics and large real fire. Our meals were absolutely incredible, the best roast beef ive ever tasted, veggies cooked to perfection and the service warm and friendly, we felt like we were part of the family, and our dogs were made to feel welcome too. We would definitely return.

Beautiful clean and spacious.
David was very accommodating as we had a dog and an excellent host.
Warm and cosy and we were upgraded to a best
Room with a jacuzzi as it was my partners birthday.
The meals were lovely.
The entrance and hall were amazing as the Christmas tree was awesome from the bottom to the top of the stairs. The hotel has so much history we cant wait to return.
The breakfast staff were also friendly.

Nothing - the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed.
Where to start. We were asked to eat elsewhere upon arrival. The rooms. (Both because we were moved) where filthy, no heating in 1, given and old plug in electrical heater ( with no sticker to show it was safety tested) and had to move because it was just too cold. Bath water wouldn’t drain, and there wasn’t hot water at the basin. 2nd room was infested with bugs, had damp all over walls, and dripping water to floor with an electric heater. I have pictures and videos of it all. Discussed a refund and never heard back about it. That was 5 weeks ago. Booking.com haven’t helped. Reported to visit wales and they confirmed they don’t take part in the scheme despite showing AA on door. Reporting to Citizens advice/trading standards until I get my £150 back!!

Beautiful building, lots of history and breakfast was nice.
The bed wasn't very comfortable, the bedroom smelt dusty and the bathroom wasn't renovated properly

Lovely stay very clean, authentic old fashioned hotel, staff really helpful and polite, go above and beyond to assist.
Breakfast was lovely and tasty (I had scrambled egg on toast) husband had the full English breakfast also had selection of cereal and juice available.
Tea/coffee in room, room lovely and warm and cosy

Room was filthy. Pillows stank. Towels smelly. Bathroom disgusting and not as advertised. No large spa bath as advertised. Haven’t added the dirty toilet photos!

Great looking property with lots of character and very charming.
Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent
The spiders/cobwebs, understand with it being an old property it’s not easy to get to the hard to reach spots.

When we were on our way we were given a call to inform us of delays in the main motor way which was above and beyond what we have previously experienced. We were welcomed like family coming home after a long trip away. The first look at this exceptional accommodation was jaw dropping as it is beyond what expected. The service from all staff was beyond exceptional with our every need met. If we could give this accommodation higher than a 10 star rating we would.

Beautiful room (and comfy bed) at the back of the hotel was quiet with fabulous views. Staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. When they saw I was not very mobile they moved me to a lower floor and helped with my bags. Good choice of breakfast items but the option of even more fruit is always welcome. I stayed for a week in total and was very comfortable.

lovely old Abbey, full of history, close to Zip World where we visited earlier that day. smooth check in. Staff was very attentive , friendly and nothing seemed to much trouble. felt very relaxed and welcome as soon as we arrived.
Loved the ambience with open fires made it feel really cosy and regal.
You have to appreciate this is a very old building, hence why i chose this place, so is going to be a little worn but they have done the best to keep it modern comfortable and clean. If you want a place that is fault free, go to a boring old Premier Inn without character.

Very warm and welcoming - this is a very traditional hotel, old fashioned furnishings but extremely in keeping with the style of the hotel - food was amazing - highly recommend the restaurant.
Strong Smell in bathroom due to drainage issues whilst using the sink, staff are aware of the issue so hopefully it gets sorted.

They are not kidding when they say dog friendly - the most dog friendly place we've ever stayed! They were pretty friendly towards us as well. Food was exceptional and staff, including the head honcho, as accommodating as you could ever hope for.
If you're after absolute luxury you'll probably be disappointed but it's comfortable, welcoming and in a lovely situation.

Great room. Fantastic staff working at the weekend. A little overstretched, but made up with their enthusiasm
The whirlpool bath. It was ginormous and to fill it would have taken ages. As a shower it was lethal climbing in and trying to balance on the uneven floor of the whirlpool

The room we booked was fantastic! Right at the top of the hotel and dramatically decorated. We ate in the bar the night we stayed as we had our dogs with us. The food was impressive and our host and other staff were attentive and good fun. We will definitely book again when we are up that way.

The location is beautiful and the staff are wonderful! David is an amazing host and Karen who looked after us at breakfast was so lovely and helpful.
It’s expensive for what it is, there’s no lift so dragging all your suitcases up the stairs isn’t great. David was a big help when we arrived but we struggled when we were leaving.
The rooms are just old, not historically old, just old and there’s cobwebs and spiders in the rooms.

Welcome
Dinner was ok
Wine was good
Cleanliness of the whole place , cobwebs, mouldy shower, the whole place needs TLC
Broken blinds, gaffer tape used in rooms for repairs, general maintenance was poor. Fur balls around the bar area where cats were allowed on the bar!
Cracked window panes in the lounge!
The orange juice at breakfast was fermented so no one drank it.

Staff were lovely. Beautiful location and property. Bed was comfy.
Needed abit of modernising, particularly the bathrooms. Also there were quite afew cobwebs.

The Luxury Family room is amazing, a king size bed and two singles under a high vaulted roof plus the kids room and adult rooms are separated by a door so you can get some peace at the end of the day! Our host was extremely helpful and polite throughout our stay ensuring we had everything we needed and offering advice on what to see locally etc.
The only downside was our spa bath, yes it worked and my kids loved it but its a little on the small side for an adult so my wife and I didn't get to enjoy it unfortunately but to be fair we booked based on the overall appearance of the room so not a huge issue for us.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. Dave was working between the bar, restaurant and check in and he did it with such ease. He was really friendly and helpful. The lady at breakfast was helpful and a cheery character. They also catered for my dietary requirements and the food was lovely.
Some things looking a little tired but that is being picky.
