Excellent hosts really lovely and a great feeling being there like nothing was too much trouble. Food and service was excellent, the hotel and room were spotless. Would definitely book again.
Going home :)

Makes you feel at home, and well worth the questionable single lane road there 😉

Remote and peaceful location, huge amount of work has obviously been completed to restore this lovely old property to a very high standard.
Nothing, couldn't fault it.

Everything about this establishment, from how it is managed, clean, beautifully decorated, food, and it's history.. Superb !!
Unable to stay longer due to my schedule, otherwise I would love to have stayed longer... Returning in the future is possible..

Perfect place to get away from the city! Quiet, stunning, cozy with a great view.
We had a breakfast and 1 times dinner. One was from menu and on Friday we had the pizza Friday! Hands down it was the best food we ate in the area.
Everything was perfect

Lovely location
The property has too much unrealised potential. It needs serious investment.

Lovely surroundings and setting. Everything looked really well kept and clean. Michelle was really keen to make us as welcome and at home as possible.
Our only criticism is that we would have liked a mirror to be able to dry our hair and some bedsides lights as it was very dark when the main light was switched off.

Beautiful location, gorgeous building and garden. Lovely host, cute dog.
We had booked a twin room and it was made up as a double when we got there so the lady had to remake it as twin. As old building goes the inner walls and ceiling as thing and cracking, in a way it's part of the charm. For the dinner menu the two 'pre-order' options meant you had to order more than a day in advance. Unfortunately they had run out of vegetarian options. What we had though was absolutely delicious.

Michelle, the proprietor was amazing.Very helpful and friendly .She could not be faulted.
Described as inclusive of breakfast. That needs amending on the website.
Sometimes understandably Michelle is very stretched. It is largely a one man band currently.

In a fantastic place off the beaten track. Exceptionally clean with beautiful rooms

Many thanks to Michelle for giving us a comfortable first floor room with a view! She also made us breakfast just as we requested - freshly cooked eggs, bacon and toast with a big pot of hot coffee - but we were offered a broad choice of other options.
Lots of potential for long walks over the hills to the rear of the property - great for younger people! And some trails reach the ancient burial sites that are found in this area.
Some of the doors were very heavy and locks were stiff but the hotel has recently changed hands and I understand that the new owners are planning to make various improvements. Also guests should know that the road up to the hotel is very steep and dark at night - but its gloriously quiet at night!

Lovely setting and a beautiful historic building
Michelle ( Manager ) was MORE than helpful and accommodating.
Still a ‘work in progress’ so 1 or 2 items were missing from the room.
Manager sorted immediately on notification.
Didn’t expect to have to be charged for a ‘cooked’ element of Breakfast. This SHOULD have been stated in the ‘overview’ on the booking site. For the amount of monies paid for the stay, I would
Have expected that this would have been included within the price.

The food was amazing and Michelle is a fantastic cook! We were made to feel very welcome and the location was fantastic - a hidden gem!
The bathroom looked a bit tired and definitely needed a refurb - a luxurious walk-in shower would have been great.

The hotel, the area around it, the rooms - everything was wonderful and beautiful. The food is very tasty, the staff is very friendly. The lounge area, billiards, piano - wonderful.
It was quite difficult to find the hotel. Since there is no road connection and some roads were closed, we had to look for another way. Luckily, a local person came along who helped us find a detour to get to the hotel. It took us quite a lot of time and nerves. So more tips and signs on the roads would have been very appropriate.
But the hotel itself, the area around, the rooms - everything was wonderful and beautiful.

Michelle was an amazing manager who was v friendly and helpful. she also wore many hats, receiving guests, ordering food, arranging any extra requests, table service, all with a smile
just a note about the menu choices that i hadn't realised i needed to order in advance

Michelle was fantastic, working like a Trojan, holding everything together, nothing too much trouble, and always with a smile. Fabulous food and brilliant location.
Grant, a calm presence, quietly keeping an eye on everything, and an interesting top bloke as well.
We loved the friendly atmosphere, the drinks on the terrace and the stunning views.

The Breakfast was “ unusual” for a quality country house hotel , although I enjoyed it ( fruit juice , tea and a
bacon butty ) However , a more conventional breakfast layout with individual tabes , buffet etc would be expected
at a hotel of this quality . The lady who served me breakfast could not have been more helpful and courteous!
The breakfast offering requires investment ( but may not be the highest priority ? )
The original room I booked from a photograph was a single bed at the back of the hotel ( no view ? ) for
£140 a night ( without breakfast ) This was unlikely to be value for money . However, as there were few
other guests I was upgraded to a double room with a view . This was perfectly acceptable for the price paid .
However the room was a little cold , the TV was impossible to get anything except BBC News , no shelves in
in the bathroom , and towels not top quality . ( All minor issues , but this level of detail needed for such a quality
hotel . )

The Breakfast is cooked to order excellent
The hotel is set in a remote spot but close to lots of places of interest and the Snowdonia national park.
It in a surreal setting with views of Snowdon and a 5 minute walk to a secret valley one of the most relaxing and calming places I have ever been.
The Staff are fantastic very welcoming and knowledgeable about Local places to visit and eat out.
Wish we could have stayed longer

Stunning property with a homely and cozy feel. Stunning views all around with a view of Snowdon and the Irish Sea. Really clean, beds were comfortable. Cozy bar/games room with a log fire. Michelle was the most wonderful host, and made our stay feel so comfortable and took care of everything.
Could have better towels. The fluff sticks to you but it’s a minor detail, apart from that there is nothing to fault.

Grand old mansion set in extensive, lovely grounds.
Very friendly host who gave us a lot of personal attention, even served food and drinks in secluded garden setting .excellent dinner.
Very special place, we liked it so much that we stayed an extra day.
The place is still being improved, so there is necessarily some work going on, but this too will pass….

Lovely property, nice rooms and welcoming host. We especially like the games room.
The sink in our bathroom was too small…like really small.

Character, location -surrounded by stunning views and easy access to both hill walking and beach combing. I was really well looked after, home from home with roaring fire and a glass in hand 😄
Slightly tricky to find, with variable reception, but the latter became a benefit and someone available on the phone to guide me. It turned out I was very close.
They’ve not been open long since major renovations so if I was to be ultra picky there’s still a clear up in the gardens to be done.

This will be an excellent hotel once finished. It is still undergoing some final touches.
