Beautiful place, welcoming staff, delicious food, plenty of history and family lore to explore and enjoy. This is definitely a splurge, but worth it for a special occasion. You'll feel at home, and you'll feel cared for.
Cocktail hour before dinner was a bit awkward for a person dining alone. My fault for dining alone, perhaps! Also, the air conditioning was a portable unit that I had to set up myself – not a huge deal, but slightly inconvenient.
