Castellmai

Amazing character

This is a very beautiful house, superbly decorated and well stocked with interesting books. It has distant views of the sea and the castle. The owners are very friendly.

It seems churlish to make any negative comment, but with the house full you may notice that there are only two bathrooms.

Castellmai is an experience we'll never forget. A large secluded house with spectacular views. The host was friendly and couldn't have done more for our family to ensure we had a great stay. Thank you for giving them an archery experience they will never forget. The house is surrounded by a large field with beautiful friendly horses, the host let us feed them some carrots which made them happy to see us each day! So lovely to see them running around the field. We made use of the barbecue on our first night before watching the sunset over Anglesey. The house was kitted out with toiletries and soap at every sink, and plenty of cleaning supplies for the dishes. The supplied towels were nice and soft. Plenty of board games kept us entertained and books in every room on every subject (especially interior design). There's plenty to look at throughout the house. A nice swinging hammock in the garden made for a nice added touch. We spent the evenings stargazing. I would definitely recommend this place for a large family that needs little break away!

It was perfect, we were all intrigued by the property and its history. For future guests if you have an information pack about the house, its history, who built it and lived in it over time, that'd be a great accompaniment to any stay. The host recommended a Chinese takeaway to us, maybe a selection of menus from local restaurants and some leaflets for local touristy sites in a little guidebook could be provided... However we found plenty out by looking through the internet.

The house was beautiful - well-decorated/furnished and had all amenities we needed. It was set in a large grounds with lovely views of the coast including Caernarfon castle, had a lovely garden (three beautiful horses in an adjacent field). Guto was a great host too - very kind, helpful and communicative. Location was perfect, right at the edge of snowdonia, plus anglesey easily accessible by car.
