About this cottage rental
This converted 17th-century coaching inn sits in Betws Garmon, on the edge of Eryri National Park, with mountain walks, lakes and historic towns all close by. Lace up your boots for the Snowdon Ranger Path from Llyn Cwellyn (2.5 miles), while in Llanberis (7.5 miles), you can ride the Snowdon Mountain Railway to skip the hike and admire the views from the summit. If you prefer watersports to hiking, Llyn Padarn (7 miles) offers activities such as paddleboarding, kayaking, and canoeing. Pick up produce or enjoy a meal out at Caernarfon (5 miles), Bangor or Conwy (all within 27 miles). When the sun is out, pack towels for the beach at Dinas Dinlle (10 miles) or Aberdesach (12 miles).
Step through the front door and the character of this remarkable home is immediate, with exposed beams, stone walls and original features creating a wonderfully atmospheric welcome. The snug is the first space you come to, where a wood burner sits ready for cosy evenings after a day out. To the left, the generous kitchen/diner continues the historic feel with more exposed beams, a range-style cooker and plenty of room for everyone to gather around the dining table, which seats 10. Head back through the snug and into the main lounge. This is another beautifully characterful room, with sofas, a TV and a wood-burner-effect electric fire adding warmth on quieter nights in. From here, a galley kitchen leads towards the parking area and provides a handy second space with appliances and storage for budding chefs. When you fancy somewhere quieter, make your way to the conservatory, where you can curl up with a book while looking out across the garden. Five individually styled bedrooms are spread across the house. A ground-floor double is accessed via the conservatory, with a nearby shower room for added convenience. Upstairs, one double bedroom features a handsome sleigh bed, its own sofa and an en-suite bathroom with a free-standing bath. Elsewhere in the house, a second staircase rises from the inner hallway beyond the snug to a king-size bedroom and a charming bathroom with a roll-top bath. Continue along the corridor to find two further king-size bedrooms: one has a striking four-poster bed and an en-suite bathroom with a free-standing bath, while the other features a romantic half-canopy bed and its own en-suite shower room.
Outside, soak up the sun whilst gathering around the table for 10, where a BBQ and enclosed garden set you and your little ones up for an alfresco dinner to remember. Private parking for four cars completes the picture, making your arrival and Snowdon day trips a breeze.
