Carpenters Cottage - The Lakes!

Fantastic location close to train shops restaurants and lovely walks

A fantastic property that has been recently updated and very well looked after; it's in a brilliant location as the road is a few minutes walk away from the centre, and the owners are communicative with information messages sent out in the build up to your stay. Other rentals I've stayed in haven't thought about the smaller touches as much compared to here; the kitchen was full of bits and pieces to help make your stay easier and they'd clearly thought about what a visitor would need away from home if they can't pack every item to travel with which was so nice!

As there isn't a parking space allocated to the property/a visitor permit available, the only thing that would perhaps be trickier in busier times of the year would be the overnight parking as there were a couple of (fairly full) car parks for during the day and a much smaller one that offered an over night option. We were lucky as we managed to find a parking bay a couple of streets away, but it took a while on arrival to find somewhere

A shelf in the shower would be good plus some form of slim bedside table for phone/glass of water

Clean and well appointed property with large bathroom. Beds were comfortable.

The wifi did not work and the owner was not able to help us fix the situation. There is no parking directly outside the property you need to be aware that the nearest parking is on a few streets nearby (but very few spaces) or at a cricket ground 5 mins walk away (£2/day). We were able to load And unload outside the property. The back yard is shared with other houses in the street and used by a neighbour for their dog and there was dog dirt in the yard when putting the bins out. We were asked if the owner could come to fix the wifi, lightbulb and heating but they never turned up And nothing changed during our stay.
