Florence Cottage

Lovely cottage in the heart of Kendal, everything was perfect and it had everything we needed for our stay. Very comfortable, clean and relaxing.

The apartment is so well located - it is literally less than a minute from shops and restaurants but with the advantage that it is situated near the end of a 'no through' road so there was very little pedestrian or vehicle noise. This was a real benefit with the weather being so warm and us needing to keep windows open. That being said, the ground floor bedroom was wonderfully cool, even in the middle of a warm day so the kids slept really well. Fans were provided so even in the warm weather, it was possible to keep cool. The apartment itself was pristine when we arrived - everything was nice and clean and the apartment well decorated and stocked with towels, complementary shampoo and shower gel and some beers, milk and a small bottle of wine as well as tea bags, which was a nice touch. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything that one would need and a washing machine (although our stay was short so not needed). The beds were very comfortable and the showers were also very good. the living room was comfortable with a lovely 'L-shaped' sofa and the TV had YouTube so the kids were happy! There was a car port directly underneath the apartment so no problem whatsoever with parking and the key-safe was accessible without any difficulties. Honestly, this was such great value for money - fantastically well-located, great value for money and a cosy feel without feeling small. No wonder it was showing as sold out - it was quite lucky to get booked in at relatively short notice.

Excellent location and property was clean and well presented, host was very helpful and sorted us out at the last minute after our previously booked accommodation fell through.

Only issue was the bedrooms being on different floors as we have young kids

Great location with a useful parking space below. The house was very clean and well maintained and a thoughtful welcome tray. The lounge/dining/kitchen was a good sized, sociable area and the upstairs bedroom was huge! All provided for a comfortable stay.

It was extremely warm on arrival but once we turned the heating off and opened some windows it cooled down. Temperatures at this time of year are quite variable so it was good to have the controls for the thermostat. The downstairs bedroom was on the small size and was a bit or a squeeze, but still had a handy en-suite and was manageable for a few days.
