Granny's Teeth

Granny’s Teeth was such a unique little place to stay and felt like a proper escape from reality for a couple of days. The chalet has so much character, with a lovely nautical charm throughout, and you can tell the owner has put a lot of thought and effort into all the little details. The facilities had everything we needed, the beds were really comfortable and the decking area was perfect for just chilling out in the evening and star watching once it got dark. The location was a big plus for us too. You’re close enough to pack up your beach gear and wander down to the lovely sandy spot by the Cobb, without having to make a whole day of getting there. Lyme Regis itself has just the right selection of places to eat, drink and explore, and we loved being able to wander into town, find somewhere for food and just see where the day took us.

There really wasn’t much we didn’t like. The only thing worth knowing is that it’s a bit of a further trek to Tesco Express if you need groceries, so I’d recommend stocking up before you arrive if you’re planning on cooking and don’t intend to eat out much. Otherwise, everything we needed was there and we were really comfortable throughout our stay.

The location was fantastic. Sitting on the terrace looking out over the sea was lovely. The accommodation itself was compact, but well designed to fit in plenty of storage space. It felt like home straight away due to all the small touches like leaving games for guests, and the local art on the walls.

We have no complaints. We loved the place. If I had to be picky, the toilet door could do with a bit of oil (bit creaky - hard not to wake people if having a night time toilet trip!). Also the keys could be labelled front door and back door as we kept using the wrong one first! Again though, this is trivial and not a complaint.

Lovely location, accommodation was up together and nice. I liked the outdoor decking with a view of the sea.

Was a little grubby in the odd place e.g a couple of cobwebs. Parking space was small and perhaps only suitable for a smaller car, if we'd had a saloon or estate it would not have been possible to park.
