These rooms are within a complex of student housing, near a part of the university and next to a metro station. It is quite far out of town, but there is a good connection. In the immediate surroundings: a neighbourhood square, a few cafés (not open late in the evening, a shopping centre with hypermarché. Don't expect lovely cobbled streets. (I had to be at the university, so the location was dead convenient.) Access to the room makes you feel like M. Hulot (in Jacques Tati's Playtime). If you arrive in the dark, you will need your phone torch to find the keyboard for the first of many codes. Then others for everything: getting the lift, opening the coffre-fort (inside a desk opposite the letter boxes of the more permanent tenants), the another for going up, etc.. Eventually it all works, but steady nerves are required. Instructions are all in French, but your phone can presumably translate them. Finding your room in the labyrinthian system of corridors also needs some time. The room itself is good. In fact, it is much better than I'd expected after reading the less than favourable reviews. It is clear and a bit spartan. The bath room is much larger than in most hotels, and you can make your own tea or coffee, or even cook if you want to do this. Cushions and mattress both covered in plastic (hey, this is an institution!!!). wifi access is, again, designed by someone who hates human beings. You have to go through a range of registering procedures. If you follow the slavishly, you may, eventually end up being accepted. Uffffh. All in all: the room is inexpensive, and one should not expect much - but these expectations are met. One note: the place may feel a little strange at night for anyone with anxieties. This includes the permanent tenants, who approach unknow visitors with a sense of unease. But one can live with that.

As said above: the whole procedure of getting into the building, up the floors, into your room.

Une catastrophe , je réserve la nuit du 18 janvier je ne trouve même pas d’entrée ni d’accueil aucun numéro joignable je suis resté planté devant la résidence presque une heure
