We absolutely loved this place. The hosts were so lovely and helpful and provided us with so much advice/interesting facts and lovely food and wine. If you love unique, quirky, characterful but quality accommodation and warm hosts this place is for you. Totally beats staying in some awful chain or Disney hotel! It was so close to Disney and before and after one very long day there we were so well looked after. Recommend to have the breakfast and dinner they offer as all homemade and delicious. The 5 of us slept across 2 of the rooms (the main double - stunning room) and the huge separate 2 bedroom/2 bathroom 'cuckoos nest' house. The kids loved the very friendly dog. This is in my top 3 places I've ever stayed!
The main building is an old and beautiful building so a bit creaky - would recommend ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. But really I can't think of anything I didn't love.

We hebben genoten van ons verblijf van twee nachten in Le Grand Barrois! Wat een prachtig historisch pand, superhandig gelegen op doorreis vanuit of terug naar Nederland. Alles in huis is met zorg vormgegeven, met veel gevoel voor stijl (en humor!). Ook het dorpje Crecy-la-Chapelle is heel charmant. De eigenaren zijn heel vriendelijk, toegankelijk en denken graag mee om het verblijf zo prettig mogelijk te maken. Onze twee kinderen (net 2, bijna 5) konden spelen in de tuin en vonden de hond heel lief en interessant. We hebben een heerlijke maaltijd genoten op onze aankomstdag en denken in de toekomst zeker nog wel eens terug te keren!

Hôtes accueillants et très sympathiques. La chambre est spacieuse, bien équipée et confortable. Le jardin est très agréable également avec un accès au canal pour se baigner. Le repas et le petit déjeuner étaient excellents et copieux, avec des produits de qualité, nous nous sommes régalés ! À réserver sans hésitation.

Charming, quiet, and comfortable room. Loved the antique furnishings, bathroom, and balcony. Loved that the room was comfortable without needing air conditioning — great location for excellent restaurants within easy walking distance. The owner was very accommodating with early check-in and had excellent communication.
