No 5 at Simpson Street Apartments Sunderland

Over all loved the building and facilities. We were kept up to date with everything and the place was very clean and presentable. Very quiet and peaceful considering there were other guests as well

Was too hot on an evening and had no Aircon or fan. The blind weren't the easiest to use due to the pole hooks not parking properly but still had a great stay and would happily book again

The property was perfect! It was exactly as advertised, if not better! The location was perfect for us and the fact it offered private parking was definitely a plus! We had travelled 350 miles back to our home town for a family graduation party, we arrived earlier than expected, the property owner arranged for the cleaners to arrive earlier so we could check in before our check in time! Which was extremely appreciated by us! The apartment had been finished to a very high standard and is well maintained. This was definitely one of, if not the best apartments we have stayed in since leaving the area 14 years ago and visiting frequently. We Cannot recommend this place highly enough! We will definitely be back and highly recommend! The information available about the restoration of the old school house was fascinating and a great insight into the building’s history. The art work in the apartment was stunning & I will be looking into purchasing our own piece once home! We requested to extend our stay with short notice and this was accommodated with no problem at all! Thanks for having us!

Only things which could be easily fixed, the velux window in roof could do with a blind as it gets quite light and hot upstairs. We brought our own tower fan which we used the entire stay as the weather was unusually hot for Sunderland! Another note was that we could have used another pillow each. One just isn’t enough, I’m sure if I had messaged the property manager this request would have been met but, as we were so busy visiting with family and friends I didn’t have time so we made do with one. Maybe a shower curtain as the floor can get wet when using the shower (which is amazing!)

Only issue i has was that the oven trays weren’t clean but i cleaned them myself

The apartment itself was unique and charming .

It had not been cleaned professionally. It was like left from previous guests. Crumbs all the way up the stairs and into bedroom area . Sheets were not changed , chocolate marks on sheets . Toilet, did even bother to clean. Kitchen area , dirty and crumbs across counter. Cuttlery and plates needed cleaning before use. Food left in cupboard. Gold discs everywhere on ground floor , off a Christmas that was in cupboard. Very dusty in all areas .I had to clean everywhere before partner arrived. They brought clean sheets to use. Very disappointing considering cost and over News Years. Spoke to representative, they said would look into it, but then never messaged back. I would not have put a negative review if replied with reasonable explanation .
