good location if you come at Koln MEsse

The property is equipped with everything you need and even has a small, charming courtyard. It’s relatively easy to reach from the train station – about a 20-minute walk – and the Aldi supermarket is less than a 5-minute walk away.

When we arrived at the property, we called the phone number listed in the reservation and waited a few minutes for someone to bring the keys. PLEASE pay close attention to the special conditions in the booking: on the second-to-last line it specifies that the property requires a €200 CASH deposit. We weren’t given the keys until we paid this amount in cash, which was returned to us at checkout. Communication was also somewhat difficult, as we don’t speak German and the host’s son, who brought the keys, doesn’t speak English. We were also asked to pay, in cash, an additional €5 per person for bed linen. In the end, we did not pay this amount, as it was not mentioned anywhere in the booking conditions. It’s worth noting that we had already paid the full amount (including the tourist tax and cleaning fee) three days in advance. Another issue was that both the towels and bed linen were provided only for two people, even though the reservation and payment were made for three adults. The bed linen for the third person was brought to us only after 9 PM.

The fact that they wanted a $€200 cash deposit on arrival and then another €12 for linen after i had paid on booking.com was a rude surprise , the lady that met me at the door was rude and treated me like a leper, would not even give me directions to a ATM. Just told me to google it and come back when i had cash, it ruined what would otherwise have been a pleasant stay.

We enjoyed staying here and can highly recommend this property to any family with up to 4 people.

The host met us at the door, very friendly and helpful; there were even biscuits and a bottle of bubbly for us as a welcome gift. The flat is a souterrain flat which in the summer heat was fabulous as it was cool and refreshing, with laminate and tile flooring throughout (not sure what this would be like in colder seasons but of course, there is central heating). There is an outside patio area with table and seats (handy for smokers). Maybe not so comfortable if you want to spend time outside as it is quite enclosed. Flat is a 5 minute walk from the bus station where you can catch a bus to take you to two different tram and regional train stations. Getting into Cologne centre was ca. 35 minutes depending on bus/train. Supermarket (REWE) is also only a 5 minute walk and there are some pubs, cafes and takeaways within 10-15 minute walk if you'd like to stay local. Great bathroom with shower and a second separate toilet.

There wasn't really anything we did not like as such but if we had to be very picky: The flat is fairly dark due to it being souterrain although there are windows cleverly built into the bedroom walls so light flows through the whole length of the flat. The downside of this is that electric light at night also shines through, so might be not great for light-sensitive people when sleeping. You can also hear through the walls when people talk just in case this is important to someone. TV works only via wifi/streaming which is fine but there was no live tv option, again, if this is important to someone.

it was so clean and nice its just 10 minutes walk to s Bahn and a 10 minutes ride to center. Heating was good. and surprise apartment was -1 floor and still have a nice small garden . Landlady was very kind and helpful hope to stay here again.

Clean, large and TERRIBLE

It was large and clean

It was freezing. It was a relatively mild night but the heat is on a timer that turns off 11:15 to 6:15. So cold we couldn't sleep. The beds are mattresses on noisy metal frames. Not comfortable. The bed linens smelled terrible but the towels were worse. The sauna and the TV don't work (no cable). There is no washing machine though it says there is. No coffee or anything like it. No soap or shampoo in the shower. The garden terrace is a concrete bunker with 5 meter walls. This is a basement with noisy people. upstairs. It's in the middle of the suburbs with no easy access to downtown.

Quick business trip to Köln

Spacious, well equipped very clean apartment in the basement of the house. Very nice and helpful host. Good restaurant 100m away. Very well connected with city center through public transport. Very quiet area. Shops within walking distance (5 minutes).

Hard to close indoor doors. Lack of the light at the entrance to the apartment. Limited sunlight (wasn't part of the deal though) Stinky towels.

gerne wieder

Parkplatz direkt vor der Tür. Eigener kleiner Garten aus dem die Hunde nicht ausbüchsen können. Etliche schöne Kneipen mit guten Essmöglichkeiten in der Nähe, Rewe und Aldi sind auch sehr nah.

Die Betten waren o.k., aber da ist noch Luft nach oben. Matratzen etwas "knarzig" und Kopfkissen zu groß.

Das Appartement war mit allem ausgestattet was man benötigt. Der kleine private Garten war für meinen kleinen Hund ein Paradies. Die Gastgeberin war unglaublich freundlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Ich komme sicher wieder👍🏼

De bedden waren niet erg comfortabel maar wij zijn boxspring bedden gewend vandaar. Een rolgordijn of een verduisterend gordijn in een van de slaapkamers miste wij wel enorm.

Sehr sauberes, modern eingerichtetes Apartment in einer ruhigen Wohnlage.

Es war ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt im Apartment. Wir wurden herzlich begrüßt und konnten komplikationslos einchecken. Das Apartment war sehr sauber und modern eingerichtet. Es ist mit allem ausgestattet, egal ob eine Mikrowelle, eine Spülmaschine oder eine Waschmaschine. Es gibt einen sehr schönen Außenbereich, welcher im Sommer zum Verweilen einlädt. Wir konnten unser Auto sicher vor dem Gartentor parken. Die Lage des Apartments war perfekt für uns, da wir zu einem Konzert in der Lanxess Arena in Köln gingen.

Eine stabilere Garderobe könnte von Vorteil sein. Bei unseren Winterjacken kam der Ständer etwas ins Straucheln.
