A stay in a gorgeous villa in the Tuscan countryside is one thing but add in the prospect of a ten-minute drive to the sandy beaches of Maremma and this home offers even more bang for your buck. A classical and imposing rural retreat, this place is surrounded by its own large grounds, with lawns, shaded spots and olive groves to explore. In an elevated position with little more than farmland between it and the sea, there are incredible views – particularly from the pool area. Built in a traditional manner, and making the most of indoor-outdoor living with balconies, terraces, courtyards and a veranda, it's a charming place both inside and out. Cool whites and sand-coloured tiled floors add to the feeling of space and there are bookshelves lining the living area's walls. From here, you can slide open the huge doors to the veranda and create one big, airy space. Elsewhere there are elegant bedrooms (many with access to outdoor space) and plentiful bathrooms, while the main attraction is down some steps to the side of the home. The stunning infinity pool, surrounded by comfy loungers, is one of the prettiest we've seen for a while. You may feel secluded but trips to the seaside, the nearest shops and restaurants take just minutes by car, and the city of Grossetto is a half-hour drive.
