About this cottage rental

A long time favorite, the Sandy Dog, is back as a rental.
Located at the top of Bumblebee path, it's a 3 minute walk to the beach.
The Sandy Dog has a large, open floor plan and great views of the ocean and Pt. Reyes. You can watch the sunset over the ocean while sipping a glass of wine, read a book in the window seat listening to the crashing waves, or soak in the hot tub with a view of the beach.
This home is so lovely and comfortable that you will not want to leave.
The main floor includes a large living room, with ample space for a group, a dining room, sunroom, and open kitchen with panoramic views of the ocean. Downstairs are two large bedrooms and a large beautifully updated bath. The owners love dogs and welcome yours to the Sandy Dog.
There is a nice size fenced yard and even a cookie jar with doggie treats.
Kids will enjoy the boogie boards, skim boards, wet suits, sand toys, puzzles and board games.
Your entire group will love the Sandy Dog!

This is a great place to stay. The wide open plan on the upper floor provides a great view of the beach and ocean, the close walk to the beach eliminates the need to drive and amenities are superb.

The Sandy dog was perfect for our needs. Well stocked, awesome location, and beautiful views from the house. We will choose it again as we come to Dillon Beach annually. This was our first year having a service dog with us and it was a great choice.

We had a few families staying at various homes in the same neighborhood. This house was perfect for us. The views of the ocean were amazing, and the remodeling that has been done is beautiful. The property manager was quick to respond to questions we had before our reservation.

Perfect location for a family to reach everything. Great access to the beach. Toddlers learned to navigate the stairs. Baby gate a game changer. Plenty of space for individual private time Kitchen had everything we needed to prep great meals. Would definitely recommend Sandy Dog

The kitchen was well stocked, and it was a short distance to the beach. There were chairs and boards for beach play, and the hot tub was nice. While the host and listing said the house was dog-friendly, there was nowhere for the dog to use the bathroom in the backyard. All of the backyard was pavers or plants. I wish that we could have used the washer and dryer, but it was behind a locked door. Also the dishwasher was not easy to figure out how to use, some instructions taped to the front would have been awesome.

Home overall was great. Parking is limited (2) spaces. Six guests for 4 nights, 1 roll of paper towels supplied, should not have had to be a concern. Scary & creaky Stairs are not good for seniors. Garbage was left in outside can, animals got into, had to clean up. Some sand leftover in hot tub, not a good way to begin. Fully supplied kitchen was great. Thank you.

Great location, lovely place right near the beach. The walkway to the beach is right across the street. The property does have a lot of stairs that may be challenging for an older person or doggy. The views are great and there is a lovely solarium on the deck.

Had a nice, relaxing long weekend at the Sandy Dog. Perfect location with easy access to the beach. Listing very accurate. Only drawbacks are would be really nice for downstairs access to backyard. The BBQ was so old and rusty that it was unuseable! The backyard was not well kept and overgrown with weeds but could be very nice with a little attention. not we

We found this location perfect, just a quick walk to the beach, general store and restaurant. The main bedroom bed is dreamy, very comfortable and actually could be the most comfortable I have ever slept on! The home has plenty of windows with a great view of the ocean, nice interior, plenty of space and there is a bonus sun room that we found as a nice surprise and very warm:).

The view from the comfortable living room is just incredible, and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. We will definitely seek out Sandy Dog again, next time we plan a trip to DB.

The Sandy Dog is a very clean and comfortable place to stay. The roomy, upstairs space is perfect for eating and hanging out with an amazing view through the wall of windows. One small criticism is that the photo of the living area in the property listing was edited to remove power lines that impact the view. There is a walking path across the street that provides a straight shot to Dillon Beach... about a 5 minute walk. Dillon is an off-leash paradise for dogs and it is so fun to see them all running around. We had a great visit and the house was perfect for us. We would defintely stay there again!

Although we have visited Dillion Beach numerous times, this was our first time staying at a home in the Village. This place is such a cute and cozy beach house with amazing views and a welcoming vibe. The location is perfect, right at the top of Bumblebee Path, and the home is well cared for and adorably decorated! We took morning walks around the village admiring the coastal cottages and ocean views. And, of course, we made several trips down to the beach, as the home is just a short walk away. The beds were comfy and the kitchen was well equipped. There were games in the cupboard and sand toys in the shed. This was our winter trip, as we enjoy sand over snow. The weather was perfect! Our family enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing, quiet visit to Dillon Beach. It was hard to leave. We would definitely rent this home again!

The property is overall very nice. Our stay, however, was significantly impacted by the property manager's unresponsiveness and due to the smell of a body odor type stench that was so strong and pervasive in one of the bedrooms that we had to take turns sleeping in that room.
