Our second time staying at Fern Lodge and we loved it even more! The location, the space, the cosiness, the nature — everything was just as we wanted. You have to be prepared for some missing modcons (lack of wifi might surprise some guests) but we love the rusticness and, personally, I don't think such luxuries are what you need when cosy-ing up with your loved ones in the mountains. The staff are always super helpful and responsive, the kitchen is SO well stocked for Bali (better than most luxury villas I've stayed in — there's an oven!) and the space is delightful.
The road down was a little treacherous this time (more rain so more moss and slippy — our bike struggled to get back up) but otherwise nothing could phase us! Just be prepared for no wifi and top up your mobile data if you want to be connected (the signal is surprisingly good). And bring warm clothes for the night time :)
