Really cosy and ideal little cottage where everything is thought of

We absolutely loved this little hidden gem cottage it was so warm and cosy with such good features. The underfloor heating made the cottage so warm and toasty and all the rooms had so much character in them. The main bathroom is a big wet room that was convenient and ideal for getting ready in the morning and night. The main bedroom had a great 4 poster bed in it with en suite bathroom as well. Little touches like chocolates on the pillow were a nice thoughtful touch. The owner Kiran met us on arrival and talked us through what we needed to know and was helpful enough to let us know that if we needed anything we could contact her! The cottage is in an ideal location just off the motorway so was handy for exploring other places by car. The pub down the road does really nice food in the evening and everyone was really welcoming. There is a nice little wood balcony at the back which was nice for having morning coffee on. We will defo use again and would recommend to anyone.

The only downside and not much to be done about it is that because it’s close to the motorway you can hear cars going over the cattle grid on the slip road but only ever so slightly, if you have the tv on then it’s not an issue.

Very convenient stop over location.

Incredibly convenient - we just needed a place to sleep for one night. So close to the M5 and Tebay services. Very roomy, comfortable beds and great wet room.

Nice property with good amenities -a few disappointing aspects to stay.

Good location. Clean and well appointed

Lack of instructions for under floor heating. One bedroom too hot and other too cold. Nowhere to dry clothes(Storm Bram had hit) no handle on master bedroom so one of us was locked in.

Great stay for day trips from the North!

The location is perfect for day trips into the Dales, Penninies or Lake District. The cottage is well maintained, clean and cozy. It has amenities that are perfect for people with disabilities including a lower height bed and disability friendly wet room. The owners were helpful and very communicative.

Our only complaint was that the wet room had obviously been cleaned very well with bleach and the smell was a little overwhelming. I think some time with the fan and possibly a bit of airing out after cleaning would help. We were very happy though as you could tell the room had been sanitized.

Lovely property that would be 10/10 with a few changes.

Location was super convenient, just off M6. Although we did have difficulty in finding the house in the dark. Excellent facilities, nice kitchen (well equipped), sturdy dining table with 4 chairs and nice seating area. Comfy beds, linen was crisp and clean, house was very clean.

The lock box was VERY difficult to open and we had to call the owner to help. Turns out that you need super strong fingers or something like a screwdriver blade to open it! Would suggest that should be changed. Also one bedroom had underfloor heating, but the other didn't, strange. Handle broken on one bedroom door that meant you couldn't get out if the door was shut - I got trapped and had to be "rescued" by my friend. That urgently needs sorting!

Pleasant but could have been better.

Property was nice but could have been cleaner, shower head was black in places and a lot of cobwebs on the balcony also wooden slats missing on the fence around the balcony. Location easy to get to but very close to the main road and what seemed like an industrial estate which was also noisy. Overall 7/10

Wish I’d have booked longer

Thé property was in excellent location, easy to get northern or southern lakes . It was well equipped, large,spotlessly clean with lovely comfortable beds. Kids loved the Bluetooth mirrors and the garden was great with trampoline kept them entertained for hours. Lovely private balcony with great views.

Only one minor quibble, wash kids dirty clothes, but had no way of drying, a clothes airer would have been helpful .

Perfect in every way

Very easy to find, located just off the motorway. Surprisingly quiet with beautiful surroundings. There’s space to put your belongings and the place was well equipped with pretty much everything you can think of. The wet room has a waterfall shower which was a delight and simple to use. When we first arrived, we had a slight problem with getting hot water, as my partner was a little impatient wanting to try out the jacuzzi bath….we contacted the host and we got a quick response and it was sorted immediately. The Bluetooth features on the bathroom mirrors were a nice tech touch and the kitchen was exceptionally equipped. I Loved the little outdoor decking area. My youngest daughter loved the huge trampoline in the land, just outside the property. My eldest daughter loved the super fast internet. My partner loved how it was out of the way but we could easily drive a little to get to somewhere. You could say we pretty much loved everything. We’re currently looking at other dates to visit again.

Beautifully set up, very nice house. We only had an overnight stay so not much time to enjoy it but we’d come back. Convenient location near motorway and it wasn’t noisy.

Struggled to find a lid that fit any of the pans and cooking utensils seemed a selection, no dishwashing tablets or cleaning cloth but there was laundry ones. There kitchen was a little dirty in places. None of this spoiled our break though and would be easy to remedy. Would definitely recommend

Relaxing, comfortable stay

Place was modern, warm and relaxing.

Close to main road and cattle grid noise keeps you awake at night if you are a lighter sleeper. However the place is still lovely.

Great location, owner answered our query immediately, comfortable bed.

Only issue was that another guest in an opposite cottage had dogs running loose and we’re not picking up dog mess after their own dogs. This was no fault to where we stayed in any way and we would still return.

Great property, convenient location as stop off or for touring the lakes and dales.

Easy to get to location, ideal for a stop off and well located for Lakes and Yorkshire dales. Breakfast was not included but Tebay services are only 5 mins away in the car. The cleanliness of the property was very good and also the beds were very comfortable with lovely clean sheets

Just a shame about the noise from the cattle grid and altering the temp for the heating wasn’t simple.

Would consider returning

Cottage was comfortable and clean with everything you could need including lots of modern equipment. The kitchen area was really well appointed. We would consider returning with our son's family of 3. We had a nice meal in the pub in Tebay which was a short walk up the hill from the cottage. The bed was comfy and there was a fan in the bedroom which we used when the temperature got too uncomfortable.

We didn't know what to do about recycling tins and paper/cardboard. The cottage isn't exactly remote but we had to drive quite a distance every day which we hadn't planned on doing. We usually like to spend a lot of time reading outside or in front of French windows but the weather stopped us from using the balcony and the large, heavy dining table was positioned so that we couldn't view the countryside too well.

Stunning cottage, Decor was beautiful. Heated flooring and little touches with fresh flowers was a lovely touch on arrival. Luxurious bathrooms.

Was very close to motorway with busy traffic. A kitchen installation commenced ion the adjoining building at 8:30am waking everyone up, would of been nice to check out and then start the work.

Fully equipped semi-detached cottage in a convenient location

We were also thrilled by the luxurious furnishings of this flat and the great view. There is really nothing missing. The garden is also well maintained with seating and a trampoline for the children. The location of the cottage is perfect for trips in all directions.

We found it difficult to get used to the noise level (motorway + cattle grid), especially when we wanted to sleep with the window slightly open. But this only affects the bedroom at the back of the cottage. It is relatively quiet in the house when the windows are closed.

A perfect holiday

The cottage was beautiful, immaculate, and had everything you could possibly want from a holiday home. It was so lovely sitting on the balcony, overlooking the garden with a glass of wine in the evening watching the kids playing on the trampoline and the goats and sheep from the farm. The beds were very comfortable, the 4 poster was an added bonus, the spa bath was amazing and so relaxing after a busy day walking. The location was perfect, within walking distance of a farm shop and a great pub. We went to Shap outdoor pool, to swim at the highest point in the UK, it was fantastic. We also visited the Chocolate factory in Orton, which was a 10 minute drive from the cottage, we went to the stone circle from the bronze age, Penrith and then went on to Windermere, which is half an hour drive. It was a perfect holiday, thank you so much! I would highly recommend and we will definitely be booking again.
