Great space, homey feeling, good walks
Although I passed on the mopping there was still a lot of dust and hair behind doors, corners and flooring, one of the duvet covers underneath was dirty

The location was perfect for us, easy to get to and the motorway noises weren't an issue. Even with the window open it didn't disturb us at all! The surrounding gardens were also lovely. The water pressure in the showers was amazing, nothing like a good hot powerful shower!
Unfortunately, there was alot that didn't meet our expectations. Had it of only been 1 thing we would of course brought it to the hosts attention but sadly there were lots of things that really didn't hit the mark. The cleanliness overall was quite bad. Thick dust on all skirting and picture frames, alongside the mould. Most items in the kitchens were grubby and dirty; I had to spend a while cleaning everything so I could make dinner. Which was also difficult as the kitchen inventory was sparse at best (only 1 sharp knife, no measuring jug, only 3 cereal bowls, only 2 baking trays...I could go on) food from the previous guests left in the cupboard, and the bottom of the fridge was filled with water.
The mattress have seen better days, as have the sofas. Both were not comfortable to the point we all had bad backs over our weekend.
The bathrooms were overall okay, however could really use some maintenance. Loo brush provided, but not actually attached to the handle...Drawers in the bathroom are broken. No where to dry towels properly.
The heating was on 24/7, which may seem like a wonderful thing but trying to sleep in 25°c bedroom is not for us. We could not get it to turn down or off!
Overall we had a lovely weekend visiting family, but unfortunately would not return, paying close to £400 for 2 nights isn't acceptable in it's current state. With a good clean, maintenance issues sorted and a restock of the kitchen this could be a lovely little cottage.
