Fantastic Stay at Eden Cottage

Everything was fantastic and we really enjoyed our stay. We did have an issue with the internet but this was sorted within minutes.

Weekend break

Location, easy to find, beautiful views. Comfortable, cosy, loved the bed so luxurious.

Was very cold and could not turn heating up. WiFi was not working as well as the jacuzzi if all these things were available would of been perfect birthday trip. Unfortunately we didn't hear back from the owners either.

The beds were comfy and the bath however the bath was left with loads of bits in and when I went to have a bath at night the hot water wasn’t working until the morning don’t know if it’s on a timer.

How it was right next to the end of the motorway and right infront of cattlegrids so everytime a car went past we heard it.

This isn’t a review of Eden cottage… because we don’t stay in that one

We managed to get in

After travelling 5 hours, arriving around 2000, we discovered someone was already staying in the property we booked… luckily, the host had another property available… as if by magic. I don’t want to complain but it was quite unsettling and seems irresponsible from a host to be double booking and causing distress to their guests

A perfect location off the M6

This is an excellent cottage. Beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Very spacious bathrooms and plenty of clean towels provided. The double bed was extremely comfortable. It was nice to have some fresh milk in the fridge but it would have been nice to have some tea & coffee provided and not the sachets of all in-one instant coffee. The kitchen, although small was very well equipped and we made full use of it. Plenty of utensils and cutlery, all clean and well looked after. Easy access to the cottage and the owners were proactive prior to arrival. We had a small problem with the Wi-Fi but one call to the owner sorted this out quickly. There is no view from the cottage, other than the balcony as the windows are frosted. This didn't trouble us as we were only there one night. There is traffic noise from a cattle grid at the bottom of the road, not troublesome if you sleep with the windows closed. A perfect cottage for our overnight stay, exactly what we needed. Thank you

We were unable to adjust the heating on the sensors, it was set at 18 degrees and as it was a particularly cold spell it would have been good to be able to set the temperature a bit higher. Luckily the owners had left a very efficient fan heater in the lounge and that solved the problem. I am sure if we had contacted the owners they would have resolved this but we were tired and it wasn't worth bothering them for just this one night. Traffice noise from the cattle -grid at the bottom of the road. Not a problem with the windows closed. The kitchen tap is loose and wobbly and the plug in the en-suite bathroom does not seal properly. These are minor problems but I wanted to draw it to the owners attention.

A beautifully set up home away from home. The shower room was perfect for our needs.

My only tiny niggle was that the bedside lamp cord only reached the nearest plug socket (that I could find - perhaps I missed something) when I took it on across underneath the pillow. (It was a lovely comfy pillow!)

A wonderful cosy stay, perfect for a chilled girly weekend walking and having a few drinks with a film.

There was parking just in front of the property. It was very homely and cosy with underfloor heating. The location was a worry near the road, but it wasn’t an issue at all. Me and my 2 friends had the best nights sleep we’ve had in ages!

The only issue we had was getting the keys, because booking.com had sent an email to me with the wrong code, so be sure to check your messages on booking.com from the property owner instead!

Good location, lovely property. Good size and dog friendly. Just what we wanted.

Cleanliness wasn't up to standard for what i expected. Dust and bits behind all doors, food left in the sink from previous guests, showers, all chrome and mirrors not cleaned, which was disappointing.

Excellent location for a steady base

The location off the M6 is great, its modern and well kept. Enough space for 3 adults 1 child & 1 dog. There is a local pub up the hill which does great food & drink.

A few small improvements could be tea bags & milk, there was a few coffee sachets but nothing else.

A really nice stay

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location was perfect, with the Lakes on your doorstep to the west (30mins by car to Windermere) and the Yorkshire Dales to the east. The property has everything you might need and feels quite cozy. It is also quite spacious and comfortable. There was some noise from the main road but that didn’t bother us at all. The farm shop at Tebay services is perfect for groceries. The hosts were also very kind - they arranged for us to stay another night due to a storm which prevented us from moving on with our trip.

The towels were dirty - that was quite unpleasant.

Easy to find , great parking plenty room . Facilities in property excellent, nice big wet room and separate en-suite with bath and shower . TVs large in 2 room and smaller one in other bedroom . Have to give top marks for property and facilities 👍🏻

5 star stay with brilliant hosts

Beautiful cottage and excellent location, easy to find, and spacious! Loved the bathrooms and modern feel.

The balcony was in need of modernisation as the wooden beams kept falling off and it’s a bit of a risk with small children so we didn’t really sit there much in the fear the wood may break through due to weight. The other thing that would really make the cottage amazing would be a full size mirror maybe in the hall way to check your outfits.

Everything!! This is our 2nd stay at Eden Cottage. After a wonderful break with my partner in February, I decided to book to take my eldery parents. They had a lovely relaxing time and were surprised how clean and well equipped the property was. We all enjoyed relaxing in the grounds and walking around Tebay village. The beds are comfortable, the wet room was perfect for my disabled partner and dad's needs, the kitchen is equipped for self-catering, and the balcony is a lovely addition, which our dog enjoyed utilising ( and barking at the 'robot' lawnmower as it did its thing!). Thank you for allowing us to stay. We highly recommend Eden Cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing break surrounded by beautiful scenery. *The photos below were all taken from outside Eden Cottage.

Perfect accommodation, very clean, very thoughtful.

This cottage was perfect, I’ve never been away and not had to clean before I unpacked. It was so clean and fresh so felt like a holiday as soon as I arrived. The owners have thought about absolutely everything, from an electric adjustable bed, to hot water bottles. Location is around 30-60 mins from the usual tourist locations but we didn’t mind the drives. Would definitely recommend this place.

Two nights stay

Very clean, cosy and warm place, very well furnished and provided with full amenities, nice kitchen and living room, hot tub/ jacuzzi, beds are very comfortable. Hosts are very responsive and helpful.

-Close to motorway. -Noise from the cattle grid which is at the roundabout close to the cottage (the noise is barely noticeable at night but frequent during the day if someone wants to have a nap). -No privacy in the garden as it is exposed to the adjacent roads.

A beautifully equipped cottage in a well located position, ideal if you are looking to break up your journey as situated

The cottage was clean, well equipped, warm ( under floor heating ) and tastefully decorated. The spa bath and comfortable bed was much welcomed. Owners were very accommodating and provided great information re- facilities and instructions to help locate the cottage. Also, attention to reduce traffic noise, we had no concerns and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Ideal for a quiet short break

Lovely little property with large well manicured gardens. Easy to find off the motorway and the most fantastic enormous comfy bed. Bathrooms were fantastic as well ! Great stopping point on the way to the North but not much going on locally (Penrith 20 mins away). Ideal for a quick stopover though which is what we needed and great for the dog (she loved the outside space)

Front room cold as underfloor heating not working in this area. Owner quickly responded and brought us a little plug in heater to keep us warm. Dining table in a corner so couldn’t really sit around it and couldn’t move as solid and very heavy. For me the furniture in the lounge was bulky and oversized but I understand the owners would want something hard wearing for a rental property.

Uncomfortable stay

Minus outside and no heating in the building. Owners were aware but offered no alternative heating, ie, portable heaters. Sat wrapped in quilts for out ‘romantic get away’ wouldn’t stay there again

Spacious place and newly renovated , owners were very quick to respond to inquiries.

It was very warm inside the home and no information how to regulate the floor heater or the thermostats . The secondary bathroom was huge , but the shower didn't drain well . 2 doorhandles didn't work , needs a bit more TLC

Great quick stay near the lakes for work/leisure combination few days

The space inside, the furnishings, the wet room shower was brilliant after a long day of walking! Bed was huge and really comfortable. Home was stocked with all the basics for cooking which is always super helpful and the hosts were very helpful and easy to contact. Soundproofing was great near the m6. Check in was simple!

In lovely grounds, comfortable, warm, cosy and great location for us exploring the lakes. Cross Keys pub was nice up the road. Communication was great from owners.

Perfect for a night off grid.

Beautiful building, nice and cosy inside. Everything you need to kick back and relax. Fantastic jacuzzi bath! Beds super comfortable. Clean, tidy, GORGEOUS. Loved the fact it’s easily accessible and has goats and sheep right outside. Lovely garden area.

Next to a road but after half an hour you don’t even notice it.
