Luxurious apartment in the heart of Annecy

The location was perfect for exploring old Annecy and the lake. We stayed over the Christmas period and the apartment was very pleasant and perfect for our needs, with nice touches left by the hosts. It was comfortable and of good quality, but perhaps 'luxurious' is stretching the marketing description a bit. The nearby garage was round the corner and a tight squeeze for our car but was much better than paying to park in the local car parks in the freezing temperatures.

There are two bedrooms, an good large master with separate bathroom off the hallway, but the small bedroom had a large shower and double sink built in. I'm not a fan of this, but it seems to be the fashion in France - I've previously stayed in an apartment in Epernay with a toilet in the bedroom !! (YUK!!!) There was plenty of seating in the lounge and all of it looked very chic, but the chairs particularly were not comfortable after sitting for a time.

There is no AC and it was extremely hot and they have provided only one fan which did not improve the situation and it broke down the first night we had to fix it ourselves. The apartment and the building is very old (appt was painted recently) and they provided a punch of keys for the building entrance apartment and the parking garage. We had to move as group to use one key set. The elevator is small and old and it did not work one night where we had stuff with us we had to use the stairs 3 floors with our bags. There was not soap in toilets only couple of small cans of low quality of shampoos. The shower is in one area and toilet in another and there is no lock for them which affects the privacy You can smell odor in the pillows and linen and towels. We met one lady who thankfully waited for us after working hours to give us the keys then no body else is available and they hardly answer our messages In summary The apartment is seemed to be for a family who kept their items in cabinets and it is a waist of money to stay there
