Absolutely perfect little cottage, and location. The two flights downstairs to the toilet/bathroom might bother some people, but no issue to me and worth it to stay in such a lovely unique property.
It was all absolutely fantastic, I loved it and will be back. The only tiny thing I could find that after a tiring day out exploring the dales, the sofa maybe wasn't too comfortable (but would be pretty tough replacing it with anything bigger, lol!) - Maybe a bigger/higher pouffe/footstool instead?

Lovely property. More than adequate for 3
No welcome basket as pictured and described in the guest guide
Write up really should make clear that toilet is two floors away from bed

This cottage isn’t “quirky” it’s a piece of living history and staying here is a privilege - it’s like staying in a museum or a doll’s house. Each floor is tiny but perfect and updated with USB plugs, good internet, automatic stairs lighting and efficient shower and heating. The garden area is spacious and beautifully maintained. There are a lot of steep steps but all worth climbing!!!

The location was great and lovely and peaceful area. Ideal base for exploring the surrounding villages and towns
The sofa wasn't ideal for two people and if someone was in the chair they couldn't see the tv

Cosy and cute cottage with great location for exploring the Dales. Ideal for a couple and a short stay.
Only grumble was that we only had one towel each for a 7 night stay.

Not a lot
Upon arrival, we were shocked by the condition of the patio garden. It was full of weeds, with no flowers in the boxes as shown in the listing photos. Pieces of wood were scattered across the patio—clearly from a fire pit that had not been cleaned out. The whole area was untidy and unkempt, with loose stones and general dirt everywhere. It looked nothing like the clean and well-maintained images on your website.
Inside the cottage, the condition didn’t improve. The staircase layout is very impractical, especially for older guests or anyone with mobility issues. The overall space was much smaller than expected and looked. The shower was so cramped you could barely shut the door while inside. To make matters worse, the bathroom is located on the bottom floor, while the bedroom is on the top floor—meaning multiple steep staircases have to be used, even during the night.
Overall, the property felt neglected and misrepresented. I’ve stayed in many different properties around the country for short stays, and I can honestly say this has been one of the worst experiences I’ve had. I would not stay at this cottage again, nor would I recommend it to others

Very well and thoughtfully equipped with everything you need, especially the kitchen.
Bed creaky, small and uncomfortable. Pillows need replacing.
Courtyard needed weeding and a good sweep.

We really enjoyed our stay at Puzzle Cottage. The front space is secured by two gates which is excellent for dogs and young children. There is a fire pit outside and wood burner inside. Although the cottage is small it is very well laid out. Full of charm and character we would definitely stay there again.

Loved the quirky feel to the place, decor was nice and in keeping. Like things like the coffee machine etc.
Felt some of kitchen implements could do with replacing ie. Couple of trays for oven were rusty but we had everything we needed.

Lovely cosy cottage in a quiet location. Good outdoor space to sit and relax. We’ll equipped kitchen.
Need to be careful on stairs and don’t wear socks going up and down as very slippery.

So quirky and cute. Although We did bump our heads on the beams in the bedroom! Oopps! Everything you would need was there including a dishwasher. The biscuits and tea was very good.
The location was excellent with great walking and within a decent distance for other places.
The garden was great for our dog stairs not so but she managed.
The stairs to the bedroom were very narrow and we had to be careful but it’s not a criticism as that’s how it was.

Location was perfect, plenty of cooking utensils, garden was beautiful.
The bathroom is enclosed and the extractor isn’t strong enough so some signs of black mould.

Lock box was easy to use and door was easy to unlock.
I found it difficult to find as it’s just a gate next to some bushes but the host answered the phone quickly and explained where to find the cottage

Wonderful stay in a gorgeous quirky cottage.
Tastefully refurbished with all old features but lots of modern twists that did not detract from character.
Everything you need, plus stuff you did not think you would need but came in very handy.
Exceptionally clean & lovely food basket on arrival.
Sensor lights were great on stairways, i don't think I switched any other lights on apart from.bathroom.
Perfect location in quiet village with plenty of walks from doorstep & Leyburn 5 minutes drive away.
Courtyard area is lovely had breakfast & tea outside every day due to beautiful British weather.
Cannot comment on Living Room as did not spend anytime in there but imagine it would be cosy in the colder months.
Perfect hosts
Thank you, hopefully I will find time to come back
