Convenient location, surrounded by lush greenery, with the air filled with its beautiful, fresh scent. The terrace offers stunning views of the mountains and the sea. The rooms themselves are full of character, preserving their authentic atmosphere. They are very comfortable to stay in and immaculately clean. Martin and Sue are incredibly welcoming and caring hosts. They serve the best breakfasts in the world. We stayed here during the New Year holidays and truly felt like we were at our parents’ home.

An excellent breakfast was served on a private balcony with views of the sea and mountains. Hosts went out of their way to make you feel welcome, plus the extra mile when I needed some help. Room was fabulous.

A gem of a place to stay - hidden away on a residential street, wonderful views, beautifully furnished. Sue and Martin are lovely hosts - kind, warm and full of good tips. We loved being in Hout Bay, it felt liked an oasis after a day in the city.

Place to remember

Clean, nice decorated and spacious room with private terrace. Sue and Martin, the lovely hosts, were helpful and made you feel more than welcome. Quiet surroundings but Cape Town, sights and great wineries/restaurants close by. Next time when we are in Cape Town we will return.

We loved our stay at the Hideaway, lovely and spacious room, comfortable bed, nice view and beautiful pool area. Breakfast was very tasty! Parking is free and you can park safely in the street, very quiet area. The hosts are so lovely, kind and humorous, we felt very welcome, thank you!! Hout Bay is a great part of Capetown with a beautiful beach and a few nice restaurants and shops.

A wonderful 4 days in this perfect guest house, can't wait to return.

The property was in a very quiet area of Hout Bay, the hosts were hugely welcoming and helpful, the room was gorgeous and very comfortable and the breakfast utterly delicious. Surpassed all expectations and we would highly recommend staying there.

We stayed 3 weeks at Martin and Sue's amazing place. This is one of the best places we've ever stayed at in South Africa. The place was clean and neat with beautiful details in the room. The breakfast was simply divine and the pool extremely good. Martin and Sue were the most caring, warm and welcoming hosts and we highly recomend this amazing place ! We will definately come back. Indulgent comfort with gracious hosts.

My stay at the Hout Bay Hideaway was one of the best holidays I can remember. The accommodation was indulgent comfort at its best. A quiet setting in an indigenous garden and abundant birdlife. The weather was perfect and I was grateful to have the saltwater swimming pool to dip into. The hosts, Sue and Martin, were kind and gracious and made me feel at home.

Wonderful relaxing accommodation

We enjoyed everything about the property Sue and Martin were wonderful hosts and very helpful when our rental car had problems. The breakfast was lovely we had it served on our balcony overlooking the fantastic garden and pool. Hout Bay has lots to offer we were sad to leave.

Besonders hervorzuheben ist der hervorragende Service der Gastgeber, die mit großer Herzlichkeit und Aufmerksamkeit für unser Wohl gesorgt haben. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet: eine große Auswahl, hochwertige Produkte und alles frisch zubereitet. Dank der sehr guten Lage ist das Hideaway zudem ein idealer Ausgangspunkt.

Heerlijk comfortabel en gezellig onderkomenen, je voelt je direct thuis.

Fantastisch onderkomen in een rustig deel van Hout Baai. We werden ontzettend vriendelijk ontvangen door de lieve eigenaren Sue en Martin die ons iedere dag een heerlijk ontbijt op ons terras brachten. Vanaf ons terras uitzicht op zee en Hout Baai. Alles wat je je maar bedenken kunt was aanwezig in de kamer, zelfs een volledig uitgeruste kitchenette. We hebben enorm genoten van deze heerlijke stek 🥰

Perfect hideaway just south of CapeTown.

Wir hatten das Zimmer nach hinten mit Balkon und direktem Zugang zu Pool und Garten. Dieser ist wirklich ein kleines Paradies. Die Gastgeber sind super nett und hilfsbereit. Die Lage ist absolut ruhig und sicher.
