Location, location, location. We stayed in the Executive, two level unit and had Incredible views of Lions Head, Table Mountain and the coast. Chantal and her sister were lovely, very helpful and prompt with communication prior to arrival and during our stay. Our primary warning would be for the driveway. With a +/- 45 degree incline, it is not suited for all vehicle types and when wet, risky. We also had some inconsiderate guests during our stay who monopolized the parking area which made it very difficult for us to park after day trips. Some paint lines to define separate spaces may be helpful. You will also need to meet uber rides at the bottom, so mobility may be a concern for some. Our only other unit-specific concern was wear and tear. We paid for the view but it is clearly in need of updating. Very large stains on the carpets, several on the curtains, and a few on the bedding. The mattress was also quite weak on one side.

Lovely friendly staff, recommended an excellent sea food restaurant in Camps Bay (Codfather). We were a touch cold as it was a chilly night. Very steep driveway 😃 We were only in for a night. May have preferred something closer to town of staying longer.

A Slice of Heaven in Camps Bay 🌄✨ Tucked high above the coastline on a steep hill (yes, your car will feel like tipping over!), this stunning bed and breakfast offers panoramic views that are nothing short of cinematic. From the deck and jacuzzi, you’re treated to an uninterrupted vista of the Twelve Apostles, rugged mountain peaks, and the shimmering Atlantic, a visual feast that makes every sunrise and sunset unforgettable. The property itself is immaculately clean and impressively spacious, with thoughtful touches that make it feel both luxurious and welcoming. Whether you’re lounging on the deck or soaking in the jacuzzi, the atmosphere invites you to slow down and savor the moment. Breakfast was a delight. I chose a classic English spread served with warmth and care. The hosts were phenomenal: gracious, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our stay memorable. Their hospitality added a personal touch that elevated the entire experience. I genuinely didn’t want to leave. This place is perfect.

The property is located high up behind Bakoven and close to Camps Bay with wonderful views over the coast facing South West. The apartment has a large sitting room, good sized bedroom with en-suite and a large terrace with sea views. The sitting room had folding glass doors which open onto the terrace. Unfortunately the wooden frame in one of the key door panels was broken and the glass was falling out which meant that we couldn’t open or close the bifold doors without incurring further damage. We were unable to open up the room to the terrace and as the windows were exposed to the sun for most of the day, the room was like an oven, even with the curtains pulled. Not being able to use the doors meant that our five days at Auberge was far less enjoyable than it might have been. In addition, our stay was further spoiled by the lack of TV as it was also broken, which was somewhat annoying as I was hoping to watch some sport. I appreciate that items in rental properties do get broken but the Auberge is not a low cost rental and more effort should have been made to alleviate our inconvenience. We never received a proper apology. The owner did after some prompting offer a miserable ZAR 1000 rental reduction, equivalent to some 0.4% of the total, which I don‘t consider begins to compensate for the poor state of the property. On settlement, I was asked to pay in Euros which incurred extra exchange fees. All in all Auberge was not a happy experience and I would not recommend it.

Elana and Chantel were BRILLIANT; so welcoming and helpful. The freshly prepared and cooked breakfasts wonderful. The property itself is not for the faint hearted! We knew it was at the top of a hill but did not appreciate the severity of the drive leading to it - no Uber drivers would attempt it, meaning a challenging walk back up after dinner, definitely not a place for heels! Once up the drive, there were also a lot of stairs in the property; up to the main floor, up again for breakfast. We had the penthouse suite which had 2 lots of stairs to get to bedroom. Room and bathroom large, although quite dark due to the proximity of other rooms/walls/fences the blinds or curtains needed to be drawn for privacy. Pool and surrounding decking small but perfectly adequate for number of rooms. Despite enjoying our stay we probably wouldn't stay again due to the location. However if Elana and Chantel ever moved to another property we'd be there like a shot.
