    It’s my go to place. It was the best to be. They provided breakfast for me for my Cape Town Marathon.

    I was pleasantly surprised by Neighbourgood East City as there were many conflicting reviews so I was not sure what to expect. The location is city centre and we felt safe and welcome, the rooms were very spacious including king sized beds, a nice working desk and big bathroom. There were minor issues but none worth mentioning, the positives far outweighed these. Sometimes can be a bit noisy compared to more upmarket hotels but I feel it was really good value for money. We only did bed and breakfast however did check out the communal kitchen and entertainment / lounge areas and blown away by what a great idea it actually is. Stovetops and ovens enough for 8 x people to do separate cooking at once, dishwashers and wash basins, multiple fridges and storage units you can lock and even a massive walk in freezer with lockable cages where you can safely story your cold shopping items. The breakfast in the restaurant on the ground floor was also very enjoyable. Thank you for a great stay, would be ideal for people travelling in groups of friends / family to do the communal cooking etc.

    We stayed for a night and if we had stayed longer we would have said something but still not what we expected. On the booking I requested parking and a few other things to which I got no response from the hotel regarding my requests. On arrival I was told they have no parking at all which would have been good info beforehand to allow me to make arrangements for my car rather than leaving out on the road. I request a room away from the elevators and our room was right in front of the elevators. The door has 1 flimsy lock on it. We had a a very nice big bed but with 2 of the smallest pillows that looked lost on the bed. They also say the rooms have aircon but our rooms aircon did try to work but it did nothing for the room. We were standing outside waiting for our ride when 1 of the staff members just threw out profanity at a homeless person like it was a joke and aggravating that person to where they wanted to fight that staff member. This all right infront of the hotel with the staff member in company branded clothing. Definitely not a good look for the hotel at all. All in all not an place I would go to again. The only good part was the friendly lady at the front desk at arrival.
