About this house rental
Set sail to an all-new Tybee Island Property. Sail Away is a 5 bedroom, 5.5 bathroom townhome with a private pool and patio that’s ideal for entertaining. This spacious, 3,000-square-foot luxury townhome has a magnificent kitchen, media room, and rooftop patio, making large family vacations or friend getaways a breeze. Enjoy the tropical backyard oasis with a refreshing 6'X12' private, heated plunge pool and patio complete with a stylish outdoor living patio and lush artificial turf. Have a cookout on the gas grill or walk to the beach, which is only a block away, to soak up the sun.
Guests are welcomed by the grand entryway that leads into a beautiful open living area. This bright and airy great room offers plenty of seating, a sectional sofa, and a large 55-inch flat-screen TV. Enjoy dining at a table with seating for eight and a kitchen island with seating for 5. The fully equipped kitchen includes a gas range, a wine fridge, and high-end stainless appliances, which merge seamlessly into the living area, making it a perfect gathering space.
Direct access to the outdoor patio and pool is available from the downstairs living area, providing plenty of light and brightness to the interior space. The outdoor area offers lounge seating for 9, an outdoor table, and a gas grill for all your cookout needs. Also located on the first is one of the bedrooms, with a queen bed, large flat-screen TV, and ensuite bathroom. Additionally, there is a powder room in the downstairs foyer.
Upstairs, The Primary bedroom suite is furnished with a king bed, a large flat-screen TV, and a large Spa Bathroom with a large walk-in shower, soaking tub, and double vanity. Additionally, bedrooms two and three on this floor also come with king-sized beds, flat-screen TVs, and ensuite bathrooms with custom showers. The fourth upstairs bedroom features twin bunk beds and has access to the hallway bathroom.
A bonus media room located upstairs features a large 70" TV and plenty of seating for everyone to enjoy a late-night movie. Just in case, the room has a sleeper sofa to double as a bonus sleeping space. The room has a spiral staircase leading up to the rooftop patio, where guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and Tybee’s mid-island beach. Catch stunning sunrises from the rooftop.
Sail Away is on the left side of a Townhome duplex. The home is on a private lane, with the nearest beach access one block away on 9th street. This public beach access has a boardwalk over the dunes. Enjoy an enclosed outdoor shower near the pool for rinsing off after a day at the beach. Parking is limited to 3 cars, including one garage space. (Trucks or oversized vehicles may limit the number of spaces to 2). Wireless Internet is available for guest use.
Guests can choose to add optional pool heat for an additional cost (not available in January or February).

Sail Away is a beautiful property with a perfect location. Our group included 12 people, 4 different family units as well as 4 kiddos. Overall, I would recommend this property!
Something to note is if you have multiple family units as we did that require more than 3 parking spots someone will need to pay for additional parking. Tybee Island does not have free parking.
Communication with Tybee Vacation Rentals was smooth and simple, I experienced no issues. One thing I noticed with the house was that the cookware needs to be replaced.

Overall, the house is great. We loved the space and it was very clean. We did have safety concerns about the pool and young children as there was no way to secure the doors in a way that would prevent children from going out on their own. Access to the rooftop patio was also difficult as the spiral stairs were very tight and did not seem secure. Otherwise, the layout of the house, number of bathrooms, kitchen, cleanliness, proximity to beach, etc. were all great.
Our main issue, however, is that we did not have hot water for most/all of our trip. The issue was not resolved after multiple attempts to get resolution with the management company including my initial complaint not being recorded despite being told a maintenance request had been submitted.
