Welcome to The Wheel House, a historic 6-bedroom, 5.5-bath vacation home on Tybee Island, Georgia. Built in 1920 as one of the island’s original train stations, this spacious retreat combines vintage charm with modern amenities and comfortably sleeps up to 14 adults—ideal for large families or groups. With a private pool, it’s the ultimate beach escape!

Inside, the bright living room features cozy seating and a large HD TV, ideal for unwinding after a day of adventures. The updated kitchen boasts generous counter space, stainless-steel appliances, and countertop seating, making meal prep easy while staying connected. The Wheel House offers diverse sleeping options. The first-floor primary suite has a king bed, flat-screen TV, pool views, and a private ensuite with a jetted tub and walk-in shower. Also on the first level are a king bedroom with a nearby bath, a queen bedroom with a TV, and a kid-friendly room with two bunk beds and an in-room sink. Upstairs, a spacious studio suite includes a king bed, living area, kitchenette, guest bath, TV, and private balcony, while a second queen bedroom also features balcony access. House was large enough to fit our family of 11. Beds were kinda hard. House was not far at all from the beach which was great. Pool was a big plus the kids really enjoyed it. If going again with a number of people I would consider staying again. The roof did leak in the half bath from the rain but someone came out the next day to fit it.

The property did not have a functioning pool heater, which I’m 99% sure when I booked it they said it was functioning, and then later changed it. Aside from that it was in a great location and large. Great for a big group right by the beach. A lot of the building was outdated with chipping paint etc but I guess that adds to the historic look. I would stay again

This house had more than enough space for our huge family! The pool was just right, and you couldn't beat the location. Catching the sunrise from the rooftop was a nice treat

The house is quirky and cool and the location is great. For the price paid, I expected a better-maintained house. This one had roaches, chipping paint, and a broken toilet. Weeds around the pool and outdoor shower to include poison oak.
When we called the rental mgr, they did weed and put in a repair order on the bathroom, the plumber was there on our last day.
