Villa delle Bougainvillée – Elegant Mediterranean Living by the Sea
An exclusive, light-filled villa with a beautiful garden just 250 meters from the sea, the Villa delle Bougainvillée embodies the refined Mediterranean lifestyle. Fully restored a few years ago, this villa combines elegant design with modern comfort and is suitable for year-round stays.
Set on a 600 m² private property in Lido Fontanelle, the villa features a private driveway leading into a shaded pergola surrounded by a lush Mediterranean garden with a tall palm tree, magnolia, ficus, lemon trees, hibiscus, and roses. A stone-paved walkway leads to the veranda, covered in vibrant bougainvillea that gave the villa its name. The spacious terrace is partly shaded and partly sun-drenched - perfect for relaxing outdoors. Garden furniture and an outdoor shower are available, and an external staircase leads to a rooftop terrace with a partial sea view.
Mediterranean Elegance & Comfort
The villa, built entirely on one level (approx. 110 m²), is crafted in white masonry. Its interior reflects the Mediterranean atmosphere already suggested by the garden: sea-green Vietri ceramic tiles throughout, white doors, and bright open spaces.
The large living room features a double built-in masonry sofa in Moorish-Mediterranean style with turquoise cushions and matching wall sconces.
The three bedrooms (one large, one medium, one small) provide a total of six beds.
Both bathrooms have windows, white tiles, modern shower cabins, elegant fixtures, and one includes a bidet. Each mirror is framed with hand-painted ceramic inlays (greche). A new washing machine is also provided.
The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with a large refrigerator, oven, ceramic cooktop, dishes, glassware, and all utensils. It features a handcrafted white cabinetry and a tiled work surface with a large dining table and chairs.
Thanks to air conditioning and heating (thermo-convectors), the villa is ideal for all seasons—cool in summer, cozy in winter.
The Surroundings
Marina di Ostuni has been awarded the Blue Flag for many years for its excellent water quality, and in recent years also received the “5 Vele” (five sails), the highest rating from the Italian environmental organization Legambiente.
Along this stretch of coastline, several seaside villages follow one another. The small ancient fishing port of Villanova, the heart of the area, offers cafés for breakfast, bakeries, pizzerias, and fish restaurants. Though Villanova remains unpretentious, in summer you’ll see yachts moored here—drawn by the crystal-clear waters that attract travelers from across Europe.
The coastline is wonderfully diverse: to the north, long sandy beaches (Pilone, Rosa Marina); further south, towards Lido Fontanelle and Costa Merlata, charming coves alternate with rocky stretches.
You’ll find bizarre rock formations, ancient lighthouses, and bays scented with Mediterranean macchia—a landscape of striking natural beauty. Nearby, in the direction of Brindisi, lies the Torre Guaceto Marine National Park, a protected coastal reserve ideal for nature lovers.
Just a few kilometers inland, the White City of Ostuni rises proudly to 300 meters above sea level, its whitewashed houses glowing in the sunlight like an oriental kasbah. Recognized as an official Città d’Arte (City of Art), Ostuni captivates with its maze-like streets, vibrant architecture, and flourishing bougainvillea cascading from every wall.
Throughout the countryside, dry-stone walls (muri a secco) divide olive groves and fields, their stones glowing in shades from sand and terracotta to soft grey and near black - a palette that perfectly mirrors the warmth and spirit of the Mediterranean.

Was soll ich sagen. Dieses Mal hat es uns für eine Woche in dieses wunderschöne Domiziel verschlagen. Sehr gepflegt, hochwertig eingerichtet. Ein Urlaubstraum der Extraklasse! Aber wovon ich dieses Mal berichten möchte, ist die Serviceleistung, die wir erfahren durften. Vorweg: von 10 zu vergebenden Punkten eine glatte 10! Aber fangen wir vorne an. Unser Flug von Düsseldorf aus wurde aus technischen Gründen storniert und hier fing auch alles an. Als wir in Bari am Flughafen ankamen, waren unsere Koffer leider nicht dabei. In diesen befanden sich jedoch unsere Bettwäsche und die Handtücher, welche wir mitgebracht hatten, da wir das angebotene Paket nicht gebucht hatten. Lange Rede, kurzer Sinn: Vom Flughafen Bari aus riefen wir bei Domus Dompe an und beklagten kurz unser Leid. Die Fahrt von Bari zum Haus dauerte knapp eine Stunde und als wir ankamen, waren sowohl die Betten schon bezogen als auch die Handtücher bereitgelegt. DAS NENNE ICH SERVICE!!! Besser geht es nicht! Meinen allerherzlichsten Dank für die prompte und unkomplizierte Unterstützung.
Fazit: Wer hier bucht, bekommt nicht nur ein wirklich tolles Feriendomiziel (und wir waren jetzt bereits in 4 unterschiedlichen Wohnungen und Häusern), sondern auch ein rundum Sorglospaket an Serviceleistung gleich mit obendrauf. Wer sich hier nicht gut aufgehoben fühlt, dem ist nicht zu helfen. Wir werden bei unseren Reisen nach Apulien auf jeden Fall nur über Domus Dompe buchen. Mille Grazie e a posto!!

Diesen Sommer hatte ich das Privileg sechs Wochen la bella vita zu genießen.
Das Haus ist genau so schön, wie es beschrieben wird.
Die Ferienhausanlage ist derart gestaltet, dass jeder in seinem Garten und auf seiner Terrasse für sich ist, wir hatten nicht das Gefühl, viele Nachbarn zu haben.
Mittwochs, selten samstags wird im Freiluftkino ein Film gezeigt - das war laut, aber wir sind an diesen Abenden essen gegangen. Wer italienische Schmalzfilme liebt, kommt allerdings voll auf seine Kosten: von der Dachterrasse ist der Blick wunderbar. Ansonsten kann man den Abend auf der Terrasse genießen und den Fledermäusen bei ihrer Jagd auf Mücken zuschauen.
Wir wurden Vorort und durch die Besitzer telefonisch super nett betreut.
Der Ort ist übersichtlich und die Restaurants locken mit guter apulischer Küche. Im Vergleich zu Ostuni, Monopoli, Lecce ... ist hier alles günstiger.
Die Strände sind klein, aber man kann super Richtung Süden joggen, wenn man nicht stundenlang unterwegs sein will. Wir waren oft am Lido Bizarro (10 Min. Autofahrt nach Norden), weil wir dort den langen schönen Sandstrand zum Barfußlaufen und ein gutes Restaurant hatten. Aber auch im Süden beim Torre Guaceto fanden wir traumhafte Badebuchten, die mit der Karibik zu vergleichen sind.
Wir würden jederzeit das Haus wieder mieten.

Wir waren im Juni 2013 für zwei Wochen in dem Haus.
Alle vorherigen Information haben voll zugetroffen.
Sehr schönes Haus in ruhiger Lage,tolle Terrasse,komplette Küche und eine ganz tolle Außendusche in Schneckenform.
Zum Strand sind wir die paar Km nach Rosa Marina gefahren,
Traumstrand,öfters auch in die weiße Stadt Ostuni.
Wir waren sicher nicht das letzte Mal in der Villa Bougainville.
Wir können dieses Haus wirklich empfehlen

The house is nice even if the garden is not perfect. The beds are good and the showers are ok. It's really great to have this shower in the garden especially in August when it's really hot. During this month the area is really noisy, I mean really ! in August there is a concert every night and a club just near the house. It's a shame because the terrasse is nice but with the noise outside you can't really enjoy it from 9pm till 1 am. If you are looking for a quite place to stay, this is definitely not the right spot to rent.
