Ideally situated one short block from the soft sand of Folly Beach, this four-bedroom home is a place for surfers, beachcombers, and those in search of comfort and relaxation. The house is also uniquely equipped for a pair of families or an extended family, as the two levels are two distinct properties - each with its own living space, kitchen, and terraces.
Enter by way of the covered veranda on the second floor, a wonderful place to sip cold glasses of sweet tea in cushioned outdoor seats. Step inside to be greeted by central air conditioning, a delightfully bright and open layout, and decor that's at once modern and charming. To one side of the great room is a sitting area with dual sofas and a wall-mounted flatscreen TV; to the other is an airy kitchen with stainless steel appliances, brass hardware, and a cooking island with bar seats for two. Glass doors on either side of the room lead to furnished decks outside.
A second complete living space awaits downstairs, including a window-lined living room with a flatscreen TV, a high-top table for four, and a full kitchen with stainless steel appliances. There are both sunny and shaded patios outside, as well as a gas grill and a picnic table for post-beach barbecues in the afternoons.
In the evenings, there are four beautifully decorated bedrooms to choose from. Three of the bedrooms are upstairs on the main level, including two primary suites with private bathrooms that feature dual vanities. The other two bedrooms - one with an en suite bathroom and one with access to an adjacent full bathroom - are downstairs on the ground floor.

The two levels of this home can be rented separately as well, as the two-bedroom Folly's Hideaway A downstairs and the three-bedroom Folly's Hideaway B upstairs

Good news:
Top unit was clean and supplied all that was needed for a good stay. The house is located within a short walk to the beach and had very easy access.
Bad news: Bottom level smelled of HEAVY cigarette smoke and the main living area a/c didn’t work. Vacasa staff brought in a mobile a/c unit after a six hour window of basically begging (finally spoke with a staff member in management which was helpful) but that only helped with cooling, not the smell. The only way to communicate with Vacasa once you are there is via text message (which is frustrating). They did offer a discount for our trouble but if there was anything else available on the island we would have moved. The vegetation around the home caused heavy mosquito presence. We had to run inside every time we got back to the house to avoid the mosquitoes. We had friends staying at two other houses on the island and they did not have a tremendous problem with mosquitoes.
We stay on Folly every summer, but won’t book this house again. :(
