Granny's house view

A casa é muito acolhedora e as vistas do terraço são maravilhosas. O Sr. Paulo é muito simpático e atencioso. Foi uma estadia curta, mas se voltar à Madeira e assim espero, voltarei com certeza à Granny's House.

The property is very well situated, slightly up the hill from Funchal centre (approx 45 min walk). It was comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay, plus bonus extra (e.g. washing machine, bbq). The property has an incredible terrace with a beautiful view, ideal cooking facilities, comfortable space inside and is everything you need for a stay in madeira. I'd recommend staying here as it's reasonably priced, comfortable and a lovely base for your travels.

The house is quite dark inside but we didn't spend much time in there during the day anyway. Nothing really to complain about. The roads take some getting used to if you have rented a car, very steep but ok with practice.

Una experiencia 100/10, super recomendado. El host es majisimo, la casa es preciosa, muy espaciosa y con unas vistas al mar increíbles desde la terraza. Todo estaba muy limpio, tenia muchos utensilios para cocinar y todo funcionaba perfectamente. Incluso podías aparcar el coche dentro sin preocupaciones.

The view is nice and there is a BBQ area outside. There was a watching machine & iron which would have been useful. The host greeted me upon arrival, despite me being later than anticipated (as I couldn’t find the property) The property was reasonably priced.

Wished I’d paid a bit more attention to the reviews rather than the rating. Situated a short (but challenging) drive away from the city centre, I decided to change accommodation after check in and take the loss on the costs. You have to drive steep roads to get there, the parking is quite difficult and the place is a bit outdated (the mattress on the bed was also quite hard). I found that there was a lot of mosquitos around and no spray/net. The host was very apologetic.
