Highly recommend

Our host Cristina was wonderful. She gave us tips for restaurants, supermarkets, local festivals and traveling options. The location is perfect for exploring the area and the village is so charming and quiet. Varrena, Bellano and Lecco are just few minutes with a train. There is a Michelin restaurant 250 meters from the apartment and a lovely osteria just around the corner (both of them with a wonderful lake view). In the property there is everything you could need. Big supermarket 9 minutes walking. 8 minutes to the train station and 3 minutes to the ferry.

The apartment was perfect, had everything you needed and in a great location!

The apartment was in a great location, close to all the shops and restaurants and not even a minute walk to the the beautiful lake front! It was easy to get to from the train station and ferry point. It was very clean and tidy with everything you may need. Cristina was always contactable and very helpful!

Exceptional

Centrally located in Mandelo del Lario, 8 minutes walk from the train station and 1 minute from the marina and the lake. The town is a small peaceful place to stay and be able to go around the lake. Cristina was very friendly and super helpful with everything! The apartment has everything you need, the kitchen was very well equipped and everything was really clean! The owners really pay attention to details. The only downside is that there is no wifi. But we didn't really needed at the end and it's good to get unplugged:)

There is no AC and no wifi (should be clear from the description but I somehow did not read it carefully and thus was surprised). Fortunately the nights in Aug were not that hot so we managed to sleep with open windows. However, the neighbourhood with restaurants is quite loud so even hours after midnight the street was noisy.

Relaxed stay on Como lake

The apartment is located very close to the lake in beautiful Mandello, a perfect base for trips and hikes. It’s a spacious studio that even has 2 small balconies. The self-check-in was very convenient for us because we were arriving late. All in all we had a pleasant time in Casa Nonno Gigi

Goed, gezellig en knus!

De plek in de stad, de rust

Nou wat jammer was, is dat er op booking stond dat er parkeergelegenheid was. Wat Christina ook appte, waar we konden parkeren (gratis) was bij het station die overigs in verbouwing is dus je kunt niet parkeren. En bij de haven, die vol was op het moment dat we aankwamen. Dus hebben we moeten parkeren op de betaalde parkeerplaats voor de periode dat we er waren.

El alojamiento anuncia que dispone de parking gratuito, pero esto no es cierto. Solo hay unas pocas plazas que son gratuitas durante una hora, y otra opción en zona azul de pago. Además, se trata de una zona muy transitada, por lo que si viajas en temporada alta, encontrar aparcamiento será prácticamente imposible. Considero que deberían eliminar la mención a “parking gratuito”, ya que induce a error y puede generar expectativas falsas. Respecto a la anfitriona, no llegué a verla en ningún momento, y lamentablemente la atención dejó mucho que desear. Me escribió a las 8:00 de la mañana para decirme que debía abandonar el alojamiento a las 10:00 en punto, sin siquiera saludar ni mostrar un mínimo de cortesía. Como ya he mencionado, la falta de educación fue evidente. Viajo con un bebé de dos meses, y debido a la rigidez con la hora de salida, me vi obligada a dar el pecho en el coche, ya que coincidía con la hora de la toma y no se me permitió quedarme ni cinco minutos más. Además, nos recomendó insistentemente un restaurante, tanto a través del libro de recomendaciones del alojamiento como por WhatsApp. Fuimos, y sinceramente fue la peor comida que hemos probado en Italia. Mi consejo es evitar esas “recomendaciones” de su restaurante favorito, ya que distan mucho de ofrecer una buena experiencia gastronómica. I believe the listing should remove the “free parking” claim, as it’s misleading and creates false expectations. As for the host — I never met her, and unfortunately, the communication lacked basic courtesy. She messaged me at 8:00 AM to say I had to leave the property by 10:00 sharp, without even a “good morning”. As mentioned, manners were clearly absent.
