Really lovely just as described
Nothing as property is beautiful … but could hear a lot of traffic at night as on a busy road but it is outskirts of Bristol City so should expect that realistically.

Beautiful property. Felt homely and cosy. Facilities good. Couldn't use outside space due to bad weather but would imagine that in the summer it would be lovely. Hot tub was lovely, when working.
The noise of the traffic from the front bedroom was very loud. The hot tub had an issue on the second night.

Proximity to motorway, complete privacy, easy check in and check out and plenty of parking.
There was nothing I didn’t like about the property.

Good use of space.
The property could do with a deep clean.

Lovely old lodge, perfectly located to visit Bristol , Bath, and surrounding areas. Well equipped kitchen and facilities. The games room is a great addition for families.
A number of issues outside the owners control to be fair so won't mention them here, but did affect our stay. The owner communicated well.
The overall level of maintenance and cleaning, however, fell short of expectations and need addressing.

The property was exactly as advertised, the rooms look exactly as the pictures and we would look at this option again.
I think they’ve undersold how close it is by car to things, everything was 15 mins away, didn’t go to Bath this time but that isn’t far either.

Location was perfect. Facilities were great. Wish we were staying longer to fully utilise everything

We had an amazing weekend at the Lodge Cottage, there was so much outside space for our dog, plus the bonus of a hot tub as well. My boys loved the games room with pool and ping pong etc. The lounge was cosy and beds were very comfortable. The location was ideal for what we wanted too. We will definitely come back. Thank you.

The host was fairly responsive to the issues we raised during our stay and took measures to correct them.
The hot tub was a nice facility to have.
The proximity to Bristol City Centre.
I picked this property due to the title, description, imagery & facilities listed. As I was booking for a special occasion, I wanted us to stay somewhere we would deem as a treat. Upon arrival, we were met by the host who was still cleaning the property, despite knowing our arrival time. The cottage was extremely cold and it was clear that the portrayal of the property was somewhat different to the reality.
The cottage itself, to us, is in need of some upgrades, maintenance and a serious clean. To describe it as luxurious, to me is unrealistic. We found previous guests food & toiletries and even clothing in the cottage. Out of date drinks were left for our consumption, dirty child's bedding provided and very dated facilities (such as the Xbox). The Wi-Fi was unstable which meant the televisions (dependent on an internet connection) continuously froze or stalled. Each item we used in the kitchen, we chose to wash before use and the bed in the main bedroom was very uncomfortable, with the mattress and bedding in serious need of an upgrade. There was no 'guidelines' available for use of facilities in the property which meant a lot of guess work and some of the information sent within the automated pre and post stay messages was outdated, resulting in us having to call the host. Attention to detail clearly lacked.
During our stay, we needed to request more towels as only 2 were provided for 2 adults and a child for a 4 night stay, including use of the hot tub. The heating in one room wasn't working which made an entire part of the cottage cold. In an old building in January with a young child staying, I was very upset this hadn't been addressed before our stay by the host, who upon reporting, mentioned it must had been broken by the previous guest and they hadn't noticed.
Maybe my expectations of this property were unrealistic but based on the description and amount charged we expected much more from our stay,

Excellent location, lovely property and very family friendly! Lovely little touches throughout! And great value for money.

The location was convenient. It’s a pretty cottage and felt safe and secure. Plenty of space for a family. Carley was friendly and helpful. She willingly reimbursed our late night trip to a local launderette to dry children’s washing because the tumble dryer was broken. The garden space is lovely.
We agree with several comments made by the previous review. A freezer compartment within the fridge is expected, although accept that none was listed and a dishwasher would be useful addition. The oven needs a clean. The garden equipment also needs some TLC. Some of the loose paving slabs on the steps are potentially dangerous, especially for children.

the cost for the area is good
the cleanliness was tragic, we deep cleaned day 1, we refused to use kitchen and more.
we left 2 days early from our 6 day stay but really did want to leave earlier, cost being the preventiontion
we conact the owner on day of leaving several issues that couldn't be resolved, , we was promised a 1 night refund which we agreed to to try be helpful and less hassle, some 6 or so weeks later and several conversations later we have received nothing despite being more than fair.
the place was filthy, not maintained, poorly managed and more
i will be contacting booking.com for a full refund

A quirky home from home bringing a little bit of heritage to a family weekend away.

Location was lovely, close enough to the city for it to only be a 10 minute drive to get into the centre but far enough out that the were fields for the dogs and away from the hustle and bustle of city life
The main road on which the house is on is a very busy and noisy road but that was a very minor inconvenience in terms of noice

Breakfast wasn’t included
The coffee was mouldy
The kitchen was really dirty the oven had not been cleaned and the tray was full of burnt fat

The cottage was lovely, with all of the amenities that I needed. I had a lovely stay although unfortunately I couldn't make use of the garden or hot tub because of the weather. Carley was a lovely, friendly host and nothing was too much bother for her.
It is situated on a busy road with quite a lot of traffic noise.

Cleanliness was poor: The bathroom had mould, the carpets weren't clean, bedsheets and towels did not smell fresh, the microwave and fridge both had food remnants in them, kitchen drawers and cupboards were dirty.
Overall value for money for a "luxury" lodge was terrible.

Lovely place and owner very helpful.
Few very minor issues, but nothing that affected the stay at all and was made up for in other ways.

lovely unusual cottage which was exactly what we wanted.
Feel that the kitchen could have been a little cleaner. There was a large wet patch on the carpet by the shower room and this remained wet our whole weekend.

The host was helpful and we were able to contact her with swift response when needed.
Past guests appeared to have broken the sofa bed without reporting this to the owners. When we brought this to the attention of the host she answered our call even though it was late.

Enough space for a family. Very nice shower room downstairs. nice garden with area for children to play although we didn’t use it. close to nice walks over the fields.
It wasn’t clean. Not luxury as contents were tatty. Not able to control the heating yourself had to rely on a timer unless you wanted to turn it off.

It was very lovely and decorated nice inside and out. The beds and sofas were very comfy and overall a very nice place to stay.
It was very expensive for just one night. Also, the hot tub was rather small as there was 5 of us in total. Other than that, no problems.

i loved that you felt like you were out in the countryside but still so close to town. the house was well equipped for kids and adults.
the bathroom, in particular the shower was amazing
we stayed in October and the evenings where chilly outside. using the hot tub some towel dressing gowns would have been good for getting in and got the hot tub.

Every base was covered by the owners, particularly for those travelling with toddlers. Very clean, modern and homely.

The care and attention to detail was evident. The rural feel and homely atmosphere is unique.
Difficulty in finding property after a long journey, unfamiliarity of the area, rather noisy road.

The property was beautiful and the hot tub was an added bonus. The property was a short distance by car to the City Centre. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
