Lovely 2 storey appartment. Loads of space. Right in the middle of Hexham. Watched the world go by from the big bay windows. It had everything we needed. Really comfortable beds.

Steeper stairs than I'd imagined but perfectly manageable

Fantastic Location with a lovely view of the Park, as the name suggests. The parking was excellent, safe and very close. The apartment is in a beautiful old building with lots of period features, large rooms with high ceilings and big sash windows. The heating and hot water worked very well and there was a large fridge. We were provided with ample tea, coffee and milk which was very nice. There were extra blankets too so there was no chance of being cold. The kitchen appeared well equipped although we didn't actually cook as there was lots of choice to eat and drink out on our doorstep. The apartment is located over two floors, but we (aged 60 and 69) did not find this a problem. The bathroom is on the top floor with the bedrooms so you do not have to navigate stairs to use the bathroom in the night. The Wifi worked well. The hosts were very nice to deal with. A safety mat for the over bath shower was much appreciated. The carpet looked brand new so we were glad we had packed our slippers for our stay.
The towels in the bathroom were quite rough, I wished we had bought our own with us.

The flat is lovely and spacious and in a great location for exploring Hexham and the surrounding area. The beds were comfy (firm but not too firm thanks to the memory foam topper) and the view of the park entrance was great. Peter was very friendly and helpful when we pointed out some of the things missing from the flat, providing another blanket for the twin room the same day and also providing some of the key kitchen items to make cooking a bit easier.
If you want to cook meals rather than eat out then the kitchen is not that well equipped at all and cooking the first night’s meal was quite a stressful experience due to the lack of equipment. Peter did provide some new equipment when we mentioned it to him, which we were very grateful for, but it is still not adequate for cooking proper meals for a family of four in due to the lack of large saucepans, chopping boards and baking trays/dishes. There are also minimal teaspoons so we kept having to wash them up throughout the day.
