Great location in the village, short walk to the shops and cafes and the harbour.

We love Mevagissey, property okay but not the best we have stayed in there.

Great location, very near harbour and facilities.

Poor communication before arrival about joining twin beds together, as advertised. Told this couldn't be done but it could. No dishwasher. Need more than one tea towel for a week. Very poor bin situation, supposed to put all rubbish in a cupboard that was full of other rubbish, Finest Retreats told about this on the Tuesday of our stay. Cupboard still full when we left on the Saturday. Property not suitable if you have any mobility issues, loads of steep stairs.

Cosy cottage in great location

Fabulous location, could not get closer to shops and restaurants while not being near noise or traffic. Kitchen being separate to living space was great for keeping soggy dogs away from furnishings. Comfortable living room and beds. Car park directly opposite was very handy and could pay for our whole stay on day one so didn’t have to worry about topping up.

If you have mobility issues, being across 3 floors could get difficult but it was fine for us.

Lovely cottage, minor problems

Location was great with easy access to the village. The cottage was comfortable and well decorated, with a good amount of storage and comfortable beds in both bedrooms for the week. As it is an old cottage the space was compact but it was perfect for the 3 of us as we were out most days. Kitchen had basic cooking accessories available, with a few pans and oven dishes. Both bathrooms had electric showers.

Our only real problem was with the maintenance. When we arrived on the Saturday there was a note stating that the washing machine was not working. As we settled in we also realised we had no hot water in the sinks in either bathroom or the kitchen, so we checked the hot water switch was on, as instructed and noticed the timer had burnt out. We reported this straight away but unfortunately noone was available to look at the issues until Wednesday and on the Tuesday the door handle came off the shower. Luckily the showers are electric and had hot water, so we could shower and wash our beach stuff out in them but it was less than ideal. The hot water and shower handle were fixed on the Wednesday but we ended up not having a washing machine for the whole time we were there which was inconvenient.

Great place to stay as a base for travelling around the local areas. Harbour area is lovely with a good amount of indepe

Location. Tidy cottage with comfortable beds. Bathrooms were clean, modern and spacious, complete with lots of towels.

Some equipment in the kitchen could do with an update. A full set of saucepans of different sizes. A larger bin, too small for 4 adults catering in the cottage for a week. More than one tea towel needed for a week. Washing machine was broken.

Truly an enjoyable stay; a fisherman’s cottage revamped

Great location, walk everywhere around the harbour. Super clean inside. Well equipped, but tiny kitchen and table sitting area a bit crammed. There is a parking just across the street which was ideal.

Not for the mobility impaired. Cottage is on 3 levels, kitchen on ground, then living room one steep flight of stairs up, then the bedrooms another steep flight of stairs up. Toaster didn’t work and kept popping the breaker, sadly no staff on site to inform.

Perfect location for a break in the beautiful Mevagissey

The location was perfect, and parking right opposite really handy The bedrooms were great and super comfy and there is everything in the kitchen you would need

Only being left 1 bin bag and 1 roll of toilet roll in each bathroom a little tight, there could have been more left in the cupboard. We found the sofa uncomfortable, and the streaming on the telly did not work for a couple of days, saying to may users?

An incident occurred when the keys were l left inside property by mistake When we contacted the owner we were advised that no spare key was available and we would have to call a locksmith which we had to pay for. Unbelievable !!

Mevagissey Break

It was easy to walk into Mevagissey Harbour with all of its shops and amenities, as well as lovely walks. I was worried about parking but it was easy, maybe due to the time of year. The cottage was clean and nicely decorated. We had a relaxing stay.

The showers weren't great - heating was hard to control. Neighbours very noisy at night. No hand towels, no oven glove, and only one tea towel.

Extremely small and inadequate space for three people - very steep stairs with access to the main bathroom down a steep flight of stairs and across the sitting room - not at all easy in the middle of the night ! No extras at all and minimum information on the area - not at all welcoming and business like - lacking in hospitality The morning after we arrived we discovered several rather large slugs in the kitchen

A clean and functional property in an excellent central location.

The location was excellent and parking was easy (public car park, but never full while we were there, even though Mevagissey was fairly busy). The property was clean and functional, small but more than sufficient for 3 or 4 people.

The two single beds could do with new mattresses, a bit soft for us (we prefer medium to firm). Although the double mattress seemed fine. The showers were a bit low pressure (we're used to power showers), but they were fine for a short stay.

Loved the cottage & the location. So much to do & see in Mevagissey & the surrounding area.

Felt the kitchen could be a little clearer, cob webs in kitchen we cleaned away. Floor could do with a deep clean. Perhaps more toilet roll & some bin liner bags to last the week. The bath towels did smell bit unaired.

Location and the parking being near was a bonus

Spiders and webs everywhere on arrival. Spare beds didn't look clean. Ensuite toilet/ bathroom smelt and needed to be flushed/ shower run to remove it slightly.

Perfect location to enjoy our days out and our ev3nings in Mevagissy.

It was well equipped and comfortable space for 2 of us. It was very central for the Harbour. Parking was easy and sometimes free!

Had a little trouble accessing wifi when we 1st arrived. Eventually the network showed up on the list of wifis. Once connected it was not a problem for the rest of our stay.

Cosy cottage in beautiful, friendly village.

Perfect location - five minutes walk from the busstop to St Austell and Fowey and the harbour, plus local shops, bars and restaurants. Within walking distance of several beaches via the coast path in both directions. The kitchen was incredibly well-equipped.

The shower was quite confusing to use (the water pressure seemed quite low and it ran hot and cold). Having read others' reviews, I took a spare toilet roll and soap as otherwise we'd have run out. And it was difficult to clean the plates using just a brush (could have done with taking a sponge!).

Well modernised, Frustrating that it was like a show home - without some trivial essentials.

Thoughtfully and tastefully modernised, Rooms are spacious by the standards of Cornish fishermen's cottage. Great to have washer/dryer.

A second toilet roll for the second toilet would have been useful. A cloth or sponge and washing up liquid for the kitchen, detergent for the washing machine. Salt and pepper for the cruet. I left sponges, detergent etc. Hopefully, they'll be left for the next incomer..

Everything is so convenient near to shops near to harbour a truly lovely place .....

I felt that the stairs are not the best if you have a disability also a grab rail would help with getting up and down the steps to the shower room....
