It was very well situated. Close to Gare du Nord with all the nearby eateries and bars. The room was large and I had a BALCONY that was so wonderful to use while watching the passing parade on the street below.
The front desk staff were so very friendly and helpful!
The room safe was an added bonus, as I always use them.
The bathroom, especially while using the toilet, was very cramped. The room is in serious need of repainting!

Hotel Avalon is a mid price hotel located close to the Gare de Nord making it a fantastic base to explore the city. Our room was a good size with a separate bathroom. The room could have done with fresh decoration in places and looked a little tired, but this was the only down side. The staff were first rate and very attentive to needs. The reception desk team and breakfast staff were excellent, and the room was cleaned with new towels every other day. Breakfast could have been a little more varied but was more than adequate to set us up for a day of exploring. A brilliant base and very well connected.
Room decoration could have been better, but a minor quibble. The street noise was greater than expected, but after a busy day exploring the city we slept well. No other dislikes at all.

Location was great for our onward travel via Gare du Nord, and it is only a few metres to the metro. Friendly staff and generally a comfortable place for a night or two
As with many city centre hotels, the building was a little cramped for space but that did not detract from a comfortable stay. Breakfast is average but good value.
