The place is far from Stone town, taxi's charge about $30 USD per ride. Please consider making private transport arrangements like car hire which costs like $25 per day. The view of the sea is great but there is no beach. The rooms were super clean and the food was great.
There is a lot of construction going on, we couldn't sleep during our entire stay because builders worked until 2 am. We complained to the manager but she didn't do nothing about the noise. The bathroom had plumbing issue, flooding, they tried to fix it but flooding never stopped. I am sure the Hotel will look great once all the renovations are completed.
