LUJO Zanzibar Resort

We stayed here for the second time when we returned from safari and have to leave a review again because of how good the staff is, they really deserve every bit of praise

We really liked the style of the hotel, the design, the atmosphere, the amazing service of Yosef, who received us at the reception and gave us perfect service throughout the vacation. The rooms were decorated to a precise and perfect standard, clean and cozy. The food was good, clean and delicious, very close to the beach. We really liked the place and the hospitality.

The property is beautiful and the facilities are great. The attention to detail in the rooms is wonderful to see. The dining and pool areas are lovely and make for a great space to relax in. The beach is about a 5 min walk at most and is so peaceful to walk along, just say no to the many local businessmen/women. Special mention to the staff at Lujo, every single one of them always had a smile and kind word to say.

The property doesn’t accept payment in shillings when using card, they charge USD and do the conversion themselves at a slightly lower rate than the banks. However, I was told that they are aiming to change their machines so you can pay in shillings in the future. There was construction work taking place which was loud but you soon get used to it. Please note this is not the fault of Lujo and they were very open about this before I arrived which was appreciated.

The architecture and the pool are very nice.

The noise of the works next door, the impossibility of coming back from Paje at night by foot and the location far from the center of Paje.
