Poor management and incompetent staff and team

Simon the security guard was the only help I had from this stay

Poor management, the unprofessional and incompetent staff. I booked a studio for 2 nights. Went there where Simon told me that there was no booking made. I showed him the confirmation email, my ID, and out of the kindness of his heart hee gave me someone else’s booking so I didn’t result to sleeping on the bench, and put me in a flat with a random personliving in there, which was NOT what I had booked. I had come to sit 4 exams, travelled 125 miles to sit these exams, which my career depends on and Merlin heights and booking .com seems to be taking this as a joke. Thank God for Simon, but the rest of the team need serious training. When I came to the office to get my keys for the room I booked, I was given funny looks by two of the young black girls, and when I asked the manager for an email to complain, she told me I can’t complain to Merlin Heights.

I had a good stay here

It had everything I needed for a comfortable visit. The apartment was clean, quiet, and well-equipped with a kitchenette, walk-in shower, and solid WiFi. I liked having a work desk and plenty of space to relax. The location is convenient just close to De Montfort University and not far from the train station. Full-day security and a games room were nice extras. Overall, it was an easy, hassle-free stay.

The location of this is great - right near the city centre.

I booked this accommodation because of the kitchen facilities - I was planning on saving some money by making my own food during my stay. However, the shared kitchen was filthy (rotting food left out, dirty dishes everywhere, horrible smell) and so I didn't end up using the kitchen at all - and ended up spending more money than I had planned. I did mention it to the staff right away, but the problem was not solved during my stay. This was very disappointing.

Good

Really clean and nice place to stay. Kitchen was equipped with almost everything you would need and the bed does come with covers and pillow cases. Overall a nice room and I would stay again.

I arrived on a Sunday and had tried to phone and talk to someone so I could arrive earlier as it was snowing where I lived so I wanted to set off before it got heavier. They told me they would email with an email twice but I never received anything. I went at the time I was meant to and arrived fine so this worked out but due to it being a Sunday nobody was in reception. I was confused on what to do so I phoned the number outside the reception and a security guard let me in to get the keys. If you are not arriving on a weekend I think this would be a lot easier. Also, even though the pictures show a studio it is an ensuite room in a flat with a kitchen and 4/5 other rooms for other guests. I was unsure if it would be a studio due to the pictures or this as the description states. I didn't bother me but a bit confusing The kitchen does come equipped but there's no toaster, scissors, trays for the oven or oven gloves, so if you think you may need one of these bring them. I worked around it and the kitchen is very nice so was not a big issue.

The TV was useless! Don't even bother wasting Ur time trying to tune it...yes tune it in 2022.
