Beautiful room close to town.

The Ribas Guestrooms was easy to fine and very close to the town. The double glazed windows meant it was quiet. I heard no noise from outside or inside the building. The room (5) was large and warm and had a bathroom which included a large shower. A coffee machine was included and plates, cups, glasses and cutlery were available from a cupboard in the hall outside the room.

Dececionante

The establishment deserves a negative review not so much because of the accommodations, which were reasonable, but rather due to the management’s attitude towards our noise complaint. On the second night of our stay, we heard several noises directly above our room (footsteps, objects falling, loud laughter, music — a typical Saturday night gathering with friends). We reported our discomfort since it was already past 10 p.m., but received no reply, even though our message was seen. We were then surprised when, from midnight until almost 1 a.m., people started leaving from the upper floor — a floor that is not reserved for guests but used by the management of the property. In other words, not only was our complaint ignored, but the staff themselves were the source of the disturbance. They came downstairs after half past midnight, talking and laughing on the stairs. The house rules clearly state that noise is not allowed after 10 p.m., but it seems those rules only apply to the guests.

We enjoyed our stay.

We stayed in room five. It is specious, comfortable room. Nice interior decorations. Clean bathroom as expected. There are big radiators and you can set the heating level. It was warm enough for us. Big windows and nice view with trees opposite of the street.

There were mosquitos (in September) so be prepared and open the window with net only. A bit lack of privacy in bathroom, it can be uncomfortable if you are not used to it. Because there is a space between bathroom walls and the ceiling. So you can hear every single noise coming from inside...

We weren’t given any milk or sugar to have with the coffee pods provided. It said on the website it was a 10 minute walk into the centre of bruges, but it was definitely closer to a 20 minute walk.

Exceptional

A terrific, modern room with an exceptionally comfy bed and surprisingly good views. There was a smart tv which allowed streaming from your phone, and a brilliant list of local businesses for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and also bars. We had an amazing experience and would stay here anytime.

Amazing room, very cosy. The shower next to the bed was a very funny surprise but we got used to it very quickly and had no issues with it.

For some reason, we couldn’t stay connected or connect to the wifi on some devices (laptops mainly).

Superb

The Ribas Guestroom 1 is beautifully designed. While it is just one room, it feels very spacious because of the high ceiling and large window that lets in natural light and opens for fresh air. The shower at first is surprising because it is next to the bed, but it. actually is quite lovely in that its semi opaque walls are both high and long. You don't have to worry about getting water on the floor or being seen by a roommate. The toilet is in an enclosed room. A narrow counter is provided for both a coffee maker and work/eating space. The bed is very comfortable and the shower has good water pressure and lots of hot water. The entrance to Ribas Guesthouse is beautiful with a patterned tile floor and strategically placed art objects. It is about a mile from the train station, but easily walkable or there is a bus stop nearby. The historic center is only 1/2 mile away.but closer is a plaza with many restaurants. You will find Brugge maps on the table in the front entrance. Check in was easy, and the WIFI was good. It is very quiet and has a lovely view to the rooftops of the old town.

There isn't anything I didn't like, but things to note about room 1. It is one room, but the ceilings are high and it does have a large window letting in natural light so does not feel as cramped as it might otherwise. The shower is next to the bed, but it has long high semi opaque walls with no door at the end. Once I got used to the placement of the shower, I really enjoyed it's spaciousness and wonderful showerhead and hot water.

trendy stay on edge of old town

Room 1 had a Renovated chique design with an insect screened window that opened over yards not a street. Very quiet at night. Modern wash basin, shower and toilet. Good bed. Only a few stairs and great security in an upmarket area. Large bin 🙏.15 minute amble to old town centre.

Extremely well run accommodation. The host has thought of everything. Attention to detail in the design and how it’s all put together. Loved my room and the view I had. Very clean and the bed was super comfortable.

Might be a little far out for older travellers that can’t walk that far and you’d need to carry your own bags upstairs. They are building there at the moment (June 2023), but it didn’t disrupt my sleep. One thing is that you can hear your neighbours as it’s an older building, so just something to be aware of but not in control of the property. Lastly, if you are sharing and don’t like an open plan bathroom / room then this might not be the right choice.

Amazing location close to the main attractions in Bruges!

The room is very clean and has a view over the Belfry tower. Check-in with pincode. Location is 10 mins walk from the very central area. There is a free parking street on the other side of the canal in front of the building! Very useful. City tax can be paid in cash or by bank transfer. The staff are responding fast through messages on booking site.

The toilet and shower are in "open" area with the room. So there is no privacy if you are traveling with a friend.

spacious room; nice view; good heating; easy self check in process; books for use in the staircase area

some issues: - the shower/toilet is not separated from the room, so you hear/smell, absolutely no idea why someone would want that - complicated city tax procedure (you have to leave cash or transfer the money upon arrival), kinda annoying - noise! you hear stomping, walking (the room lamp was shaking when someone walked in the room above), loud music & talking from the room above, very annoying - completely useless TV as it has no channels! Why? Makes no sense. - bedside lamp useless for reading a book ok for one night but staying longer the walk into town/city centre is a bit too long/tedious

A highly recommended and lovely stay in Bruges. You won't regret it!

We loved the room and the property - it was gorgeous. A tastefully renovated heritage house with some artsy touches. The room was large and felt spacious, with a cute view and a lovely bathroom. We also enjoyed the location; a 15 min walk to town centre and easy to access from the train station. The beds were really comfy and the inclusion of a fridge and a coffee machine in the room was a nice touch.

The rooms were not very soundproof and other guests walking on the stairs could clearly be heard. However this is not an issue if you treat it as a quirk of the old building. The other issue we had was the fact that the bathroom is not closed off from the room; it is simply behind a wall. I personally don't like the lack of privacy and that the entire room steamed up when someone took a shower, as there was no fan to remove the steam. Another note for less-mobile visitors: there are a lot of stairs!

Beautiful and clean place for a weekend, close to the center of Brugge

Very nice and quiet location close to the center. The building was very nice decorated and renovated, the entrance to the building and the room was very easy with a personal entry code. The room (room one) was clean and very tidy with nice bed and linen. The window in the room was with a nice view in the town. A nespresso coffee machine was also in the room.

The wc was private in the room (but everything could be heard), the shower/bathroom was into the bedroom with a class separation close to the bed and that was a little bit uncomfortable since the other person could not move in the place since also a mirror was just across the shower area and everything was visible. A little more space in the room is needed especially if you sleep from the window side (most of the times i was tapping my feet in the radiator)

Nice, comfortable stay 10 mins from the centre of Bruges

The property was well decorated and very easy to access with the digital pin code. The bed was very comfortable and the room had everything you need for a short break.

There was no parking very close by, which meant a little walking around - we arrived quite late and were a bit tired. The owner does explain this, so it wasn’t a surprise.
